Im looking to upgrade my brakes from 288mm to the much documented 312mm set up. Ive found a guy selling a full kit of carriers, calipers, ebc discs with greenstuff pads for 285 quid. Does this seem like an ok deal?

Reason for going for these are because they have been powercoated and I cant really be bothered painting my calipers. Are the calipers for the 312mm brakes the same size as my current 288mm set up?

I believe the calipers are the same size

Most 312mm disks come with both stud patterns. I almost sure the calipers and carriers are the same on both platforms

A friend of mine had upgraded from the 288 set up on his a3 to the 312 set up, all he needed was bigger brake discs and the bigger carrier but you can keep your pads and calipers, im not sure about newer set ups though

You should always change the pads when fitting new disks. The pads on the 288 mm set up are the same as the ones for the 312 mm

£285 for job lot (assuming the pads and discs are new) isn't a bad deal at all.

I changed mine just before Christmas which cost me £350 all in.

£130 - Audi TT carriers and callipers (I bought callipers with the carriers because I wasn't 100% which callipers I had, and at the risk of getting a mixup of lucas or ATE parts, I just went for the safe)
£110 - Brembo Max 312mm discs
£90 - EBC Yellow stuff pads
£10 - ATE Dot 4 Super blue racing fluid
£10 - Red Hammerite paint, brush, scraper

In my eyes, if you are happy with the discs and pads, and they are new, then £285 isn't a bad price.
