Alright folks.

I finally picked up my new to me Leon Cupra 1P. Coming from an Audi A4 I was skeptical about downsizing and changing brands but I have to say that I needent have been worried at all as the Cupra has so far exceeded all my expectations.

I have a couple of plans for the car but nothing too much, I'll be going Stage 1, H&R 30mm Springs, Triple R Splitter and Vallance, K1 Spoiler and wheel spacers.

Here is a couple of pics of the car from the dealer where I bought it, the pictures dont do the car any justice at all, there is hardly a scratch or ding on the entire body and the interior is spotless

And one from today at Brotek HQ in the process of getting it's Stage 1 Shark map, the car will be heading back to Brotek soon for a full detail to make the paint feel like glass!

Anyone with wheels spacers, what sizes do you recommend on standard wheels with a 30mm drop?

Cool cupra! Just bought one just like it 3 weeks ago

On my old I had 10mm spacers on with standard rims :)

Brilliant, cheers guys.

After a slight technical hitch last night we managed to finish off the Shark Stage 1 map, I took it out for a wee drive after and wow, what a difference, not only is the car much faster it also puts the power down much better, town driving feels like much less of an effort.

You need 40mm H&R springs as the car is slightly lower in any case and when you say a few modifications ha ha yeah that,s what we all say

Yeah. Awesome GTI class them as 30mm for the Cupra but 40mm for the other models, from looking at the sprin details both would appear to be the same part number.

I'd hate to think how fast some of the cars are on here, A stage 1 map feels mental, stage 2+ would be :censored: mad

A couple of little updates today.

I noticed that I had some vibrations coming through that car at motorway speed so I popped into a local garage to have it checked out, I thought it would be a balancing issue but no, turns out the the nearside rear had a flat spot on the inside edge.

and the geometry was out by a fair bit, I had the garage sort the geometry and they also recommended a wheel repair company (Wheel Pro Scotland in Edinburgh) that was just round the corner from them, so I popped along and an hour later I now have a nice round wheel again, the guys were brilliant and they even supplied tea and biscuits while I waited.

Next I changed the horrible roof top aerial for a more discreet stubby one.

It looks much better now!

And finally I got a couple of stickers from Shark so placed them under my indicators.

Thats it for today

Revo intake fitted today and also ordered some new Pirreli tyres as both my rear ones are on their last legs

Darth Vader doesn't make as much noise as this! You can also hear the DV working now. One thing i'm not too sure of is that at high revs it makes a chattering noise, not sure if it's meant to do that or if it's an issue?

Wtf is darth Vader well I know who darth is but I'm guessing you are referring to a part on the engine?
I am thinking of getting a intake for my own cupra aswell and heard people say that the engine sounds more agreessive than stock intake but never heard anyone my self so that why I asked

Can you please add some pics with the spacers? Preferably when the car is not lowered yet :D

I plan to add them on my car as well.. Does it affect the handling?

i have tried with either the parcel shelf out and the back seats down! it sure adds a little to the exhaust sound coming through the car ;)
But i was hoping i could eliminate some of the "normal petrol engine sound" when acceleration and exceeding 4-5000 rpms then the only sound you can here is the awful engine sound :D

I had a bit of spare time this afternoon so I set about spraying the dash from the factory silver to gloss black, if only I wasn't so impatient I would have done a better job but least now I know how to strip the dash apart, next time I strip it apart i'll be taking it to a paint shop to have it all done properly.

As bad as it is it still looks better than the standard silver and goes much better with the satnav.
