I have had a quote to change our 18" Cupra Orion wheels to gloss black (Powdercoated) for £280 + vat, but I see I can buy a brand new set of aftermarket wheels for the same price, which one do you think I should do?, im not sure.....:think:

Depends on whether you have strip down on tyres and refit.

Laptab by me will do £40 a wheel if you take the wheel in without tyre. But they charge around £200 + the dreaded VAT if you drop the car off and have the complete service, which involves them taking tyres off and re-fitting them.

I had my Octavia and my Leon done over the last 2 weeks and they can be seen in my below thread.

Does still sound a little on the dear side...the walk in the door price for 17's at Laptab was £250 + VAT. But if you can do cash, you can get a deal as I did.

Might be worth trying a little haggling I reckon - yours would be slightly dearer, given that they were 18's, but I wouldn't expect that much.

Nah what I meant mate, was the if you drive in it's £250 + VAT for 17's and he's doing them for £200 + VAT.

You said above you only got a £20 reduction (£300 to £280) - I was saying there may be more in the reduction that you can get than £20.
