Jarre, get them done properly, pay once.

The lads over on the FocusST site swear by Romax on Portrack Lane, Stockton or Prestige Powder Coatings at Hartlepool, the latter a little cheaper IIRC, finish from both absolutely superb by all accounts and circa £50 a wheel.

Thanks for your reply! I've already had another recommendation for prestige powder coatings so they sound promising, but I'll also take a look at romax. I live in yarm so portrack is only 10-15 minutes away!

Cheers!

Right, just want to resurrect my own thread here...

I have chosen to go for anthracite/gun metal grey in a satin finish over gloss. I have until Wednesday to change my mind though...

It's so hard choosing a colour since I can't find any images of my alloys in another colour other than silver or black :( I'm just a little concerned as to wether satin is the right choice! We shall see soon enough...

Sorry to resurrect this one again - Thinking about getting my wheels re-sprayed/powder coated. Something i've never done before, we talking about £50 a wheel then? Anyone recommend somewhere in the midlands? I'm assuming powder coating is the best way?

I have a picture somewhere of a set of K1 wheels I had and got one of them powder coated in gloss black to see what powder coating was like. I can see if I can find it if you want to have a look.

Yeah that would be good - also how much did it cost? Like the standard wheels on it (would probably get ripped on here for sticking with them tho!) but saw someone at the place I was getting it mapped and looked really nice in gun metal on the same colour body

I got the one wheel done at a place near me for £40 if I would have had them all done at the same time it would have cost £35 for each wheel which I think is quite good.

That looks good! Fairly hardwearing? i've just got the normal 5 spoke (non-split spokes) on mine, silver at the mo but i'm thinking darker would look better. £140 for the lot seems decent!

They look really smart in white. I'm not sure whether to get my FL Cupra wheels done in white or silver. Might give that plasti-dip a go perhaps

Have a look at City Powder Coating in Digbeth, Birmingham. They do the wheels for about £20 each ans about £30 if you want them to put the tyres back on and balance them.

I just went BMW FERRIC GREY on my bbs sports today

another noob question - does everyone just have a spare set of wheels lying around?? otherwise not really sure how i'd actually get them coated if i don't have spares!

Why don't you give the ones in Birmingham (ciytpowdercoating) a call as they do the one day service....drop off at 8am, do some shopping around town/catch a movie then pick it up at 5pm...job done!
