Maybe a strange question, however once an ECU is remapped does the date it was completed add itself to the ECU code somewhere/get logged?

Doubt it, but im not a expert. Could be depending on what sort of "remap" you get mind?

Out of interest, why do you wanna know? Spose it would be good for people buying remapped cars that want to know how long the remap has been on for before buying maybe?

Don't know about the date, but certain very well respected tuning companies add notes in the software...not very invisible to the dealers!!

I want to know in case I buy a second hand car and remap it - maybe the insurance company might think it was the previous owner if it's not date stamped !! wink wink!

after each map the ECU's programming counter increases by "1". The programming counter is the only proof that the ECU software has been modified. even if the stock map has been put back on the counter would have increased!

you can use Custom Code software to reset this counter! ;)
