hello mate. yousay you have 226Hp 218lbft of torque. that is 295NM, so 45NM over the DSG rating.

Do you reckon thats a little bit of dyno lottery with the torque? also does the box not limit the torque, idf so have you experienced any cuts?

when talking to the local revo dealer. he said he has dsg upgrade. also, the dsg can hold more then 300nm. they do have an engine they test on. box can hold without damaging more then 350nm.

where is your local revo dealer. wasnt aware they had done DSG software for the 7 speed dry box. last time i checked it wasnt on their website

i am not inside u.k...
quite far away ;-) around 7500km.
revo dealer here is also apr and upsolute dealer. the upgrade might be of one of them.
he offered me the dsg upgrade, but for 400gbp. didnt see a reason.
he does has a disassembled engine and gearbox.
most of his tests are done on a fr bocanegra 2010.

Does he have a website or anything we can look at regarding the DSG upgrade?

If gr_dude_cupra is running such high torque with out any issues I am pretty sure it should be fine then. These boxes are built to last alifetime from what I have found out and I am sure it should be good. the clutch has been my issue but as said, we are working on that.

are the figures exaggerated through a generous dyno though . im not saying they are but some dynos give very high torque readings compared to others. so its not a case of 'it can handle 313NM because his does'.

I think the gearbox can handle more though, cant imagine them being so on the limit. VAG dont work that way, that's why they are always so tunable.

Agreed, VW always build their stuff to operate well below tolerance levels. I am confident I will see 270BHP and 300/315NM. I reckon I should be happy with that in this small car hehehehehehe
