hello mate. yousay you have 226Hp 218lbft of torque. that is 295NM, so 45NM over the DSG rating.

Do you reckon thats a little bit of dyno lottery with the torque? also does the box not limit the torque, idf so have you experienced any cuts?

Hi, the 250nm value is what the standard car runs. They would never build it on the limit, as some-one has already stated. Im sure it would hold out over 300nm with ease.

No idea to be honest, the difference between the 203bhp I first rolled and the 226bhp I rolled after is huge from personal feel and my own tests :p.

There is no difference in shift speed or anything, the box is exactly as before with no playing up at all.

I had it dyno'd at what I believe to be a very well respected company but at the end of the day its how the car feels and performs on the road/track, which is what I'm so happy about...

203hp stock was that on AMDs rollers by any chance...

saying that its the difference between the before and after runs that matters. 23Hp gain is OK. what torque did it run stock?

203bhp was the first run on the standard setting on stage 1 revo, 226 was with the setting changed to C to map with 98+ fuel.

stage 1 revo - 203bhp 196lbft
stage 1 revo setting c and tweeked - 226bhp 218lbft

I have the same software as these two below. (so around 210hp and 300nm). I have no problems at all with DSG.

coolio. Its always nice to know what the cars runs standard on a set of rollers so you can see what the gains are IMO.

what is the standard setting on the REVO SPS. is that not stock power then?

Yeah mate I would of loved to but didnt have the sps to switch it back to standard or I would of :(!

If your going to the bluewater meet in the SE section ill happily take you for a spin if your interested :)

ill just have a look in that meets section now mate. im only down in medway

edit------
think ill pop up for a cabby mate if thats alright. i gather its still in bluewater carpark, havent read the whole thread. ill be in the wifes 307 estate though, all 110Hp of it....

Guess im being a mong here. was that a p!ss take. not sure what "i keeed" means, i kid maybe?

It means I was kidding. I've actually ran my stage 1 for 10k miles with no issues.

My standard car made over 250Nm so don't worry. If the box senses too much torque it just changes down.

that makes sense, i had visions of it cutting power momentarily because of the torque, but if it can keep the revs up, torque wont be at its peak

it might have made more power as standard due to the age old dyno lottery though. what rollers was it, and what did it make stock.

I have the sps switch and will hopefully get mine on the rollers in the new year some time. Will be at the bluewater meet too which has moved about 5 minutes away but the addy is there.

this is the 1st opportunity ive had since the remap to check in with you lot... didnt get my car mapped in letchworth (to cut a long story short, they double booked and couldnt book me in within the £100 off deal) so went to backdraft motorsport in MK instead, all i can say is im loving the car even more now with the cheeky little power increase, was told the car/fuel will take a little while to adapt to the map but i can already feel that shes a completley different beast. Just got to get her on the rollers now. Got the SPS switch too, REVO do not sell the select (£149.99) switch anymore only stock the SPS switch which is £250+vat, all in all the man (mark i think his name was) at backdraft did a super job on my car (even tho he was on his own, trying to map my car and sort out a porsche exhaust at the same time) would definately recommend these guys to anyone in the area.

we dont really have stuff on websites here, the dealer agency is toprpm (revo's licensed). http://www.toprpm.co.il/ but i am not sure you will see all there. you do have his num and he speaks english well, so you can ask him for the dsg upgrade (tell him the dude with the yellow cupra sent you, so he will understand, as we dont have many cupras here. he does the most of the mapping for sirrocco). if you want to see israeli fast cars (it was made about 3 years ago) you can see a nice clip here http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4039536226454557146&hl=en# just put speakers on.

Ive been doing a thinking reference Remaps.

REVO gives the biggest power gains, theres no doubting that, but everyone is nervous about the torque.

Now what about Bluefin?? Ive had bluefin on my prevous octavia vRS, which i swapped for shark performance. @ stage 1 they made the same Bhp, but the shark performance made 35lbft more torque across the entire rev range, and was notably quicker.

So in that respect Bluefin might be ideal map for the 7speed DSG. Power gains are there to be had but torque is a little lower than the competition. At leats you would be happier about the DSG surviving

im also led to believe bluefin generic maps are all mapped to run 95 ron fuel. Probably to do with ensuring that it is safe on all cars as a generic map. I reckon if you were to inform them that 95 ron is for losers, and you only use Vpower then they might increase the timing a little as well.

Also it comes with a full parts warranty, that and the map can be 100% removed with the flash count reset, which the likes of REVO can not do (they only revert the settings to a REVO equivalent of the standard output)

Anyone running bluefin? Maybve it would be better to just go to superchips HQ, get them to map the car on their rollers, and then give you the handset to enable you to swap.

So you're saying they will repair anything that goes wrong on the engine after the re-map? They must be pretty sure about their product then. Also their remap doesn't flash the ECU or at least they can clear it to sho no flash? Interesting...........

when you load the software it removes the old map and applies the performance map. and vice versa, so it does flash the ECU, however i believe there is a '-1' feature when it flashes so evertime it flashes it automatically takes 1 off the flash count, so it satys as it was before. So you could remove the software asmany times as you want and the flash count should stay the same.

heres what ive found

Thanks for the enquiry and sorry for the delay in replying.

Yes no problems, the gearbox is limited to 250nm but we can run slightly
more than that quite safely. We offer our own warranty that runs
alongside your existing VW warranty and would not be in a position to do
this if we had gearbox issues.

Any further questions let me know.

found this from REVO as well

"Just been speaking to the helpful people at Revo Technik.
They said that the DSG gearboxes can take much more than the imposed torque limit of 250Nm on the 7 speed DSG and 350Nm on the 6 speed DSG.
It is possible to trick the ECU and the TCM (Traction Control Module) into thinking the engine is producing less than the imposed torque limits to stop the ECU limiting the engine power. However all the power and torque is still delivered at the wheels.
It is all very technical but I am assured that a 7 speed DSG box can be tuned to 205hp and 270nm quite happily, and use all this power and torque without hitting the TCM limiter. This same rule goes for the 6 speed DSG box (for all you 2.0 GT chaps out there).
If you need anymore info, i'd give Revo a call as he did say SOME tuners aren't bypassing the TCM and thus the cars are hittng the TCM limiter."

WOW!! I know REVO said they would look into mapping the DSG "at a later stage". I hear guys are running these boxes at over 300NM so it is possible. I would like between 270 and 290NM.
