How much is going to cost for the remap, is it going onto a rolling road.

Hi! Didnt want to start a new thread for this.. I´ve found a place that can remap my cupra. They "promise" 225bhp and 340Nm torque... What do you think about that? Is it possible? And do you think i can do this without dangering the engine to much? They give you one year warranty on any enginefailure caused by the remap.. Its not a "chip", they remap it individually on a rolling road.. The company is called Tuningchip.

340Nm???!!!!!! I would be a little concerned about the box tbh mate. 225bhp is achievable by all means but you do need the torque too and if I can remember correctly 300Nm was the limit for these boxes but there is a guy on here from Greece I think who is running over 300Nm on his box and from what I believe has had no issues yet. I guess if they are going to honor any damage repairs then why not. Just let us know how you get on mate.

It is possible for the numbers you mention above, in order to see 340Nm i suppose they are gonna tune it to hold high boost pressure and maybe turn your Wastegate.
The engine can hold 270bhp for sure with stock pistons and rods. What kind of peripherals are they requesting?

@ 314Nm(32kg) had no issues at all, with my new set up going to tune it over 35Kg of torque and i believe it will handle well. The Seat leon 1.8tsi has a limit of 26,5kg and my mechanic has tuned it @ 47kgs and working fine for over 2 years.

The only "limitation" at those torque figures is dont floor it on roads that are very slippery which in all fairness same should be done even in stock form.

Hehe, ok then, i guess i´ll have to think about it.. Here is a link to the page anyways..

Just to see the figures..

Yes, the box is what i´ve been worried about to, but how will the engine cope with the high boostpressure? Stock is 2,5bar max pressure. What i found out so far about the map is that they change the parameters for Boost, ignition, fuel and a gearbox upgrade of some sort..

Stock pressure is no way near 2.5bar, your turbine would have been blown up if that was true. With Stage 2 remap and the boost pressure is 1,55bar and 1,2bar @ the limiter.

The parameters you mentioned are being changed no matter where you do your remap, this is how you increase horsepower nothing new nothing to worry about.

Hmm, ok.. I don´t know where, but i read somewhere that the max boost is 2,5 and the average boost is 2,25 bar standard.. Might be completely wrong as you say, i´ll try to find where i read it..

Thats probably absolute pressure, i.e including 1 bar atmostpheric pressure.

Can us oil burners play in this thread?.....318.4Nm standard :p

The joys of a manual box.................. :(
I see on their site they claim a top speed of 234km/h, not bad when I managed 236km/h on the autobahn with my REVO at 220hp, will the additional torque really matter that much then? Between traffic lights I guess hahahahahahahahahahhahaha
