Remapped Top speed

Hi all, I was wondering if with remaps the top speed can be extended on a) the CUPRA b) the Leon FR/DSG.

I have my DSG remapped and I've had 160mph on the dial. But this could be due to a number of things.

Does anyone know if the DSG gearbox can have it's gearing altered to allow for more top speed or longer gearing?

Just a random question really, no real plans or need to know. Just thought I'd ask out of interest :)

So does anyone know about the DSG box being adjusted? Hurdy or any of the other GTi guys with DSG?

I've had 167mph on the GPS (indicated 180+mph on the speedo) on the main straight at the Nurburgring. Could have got more but ran out of straight and the last part of the straight is uphill.

Might need more than a remap to do 170 but im no expert.

Increasing BHP will inevitably increase top speed just depends how much BHP you increase and of course if gearing allows ;).

Gearing should allow a Cupra to do 187mph at the rev limiter, but you'd need BIG power to get there....and a very long open stretch of Autobahn.:D

Mine does 70mph ;)

mine does 70 mph plus 10%.

To do 170mph indicated does take a while Ive been told, getting to 165mph is fairly easy, the last few mph arent, and best achieved with winds pushing you along. Wouldnt put my k1 to the test of hitting that though as its too much strain on the engine for too long.

Only cars I know of that are proven to hit a indicated 170mph or more is a RT360 and a big turbo TT which has done over 180mph

DanGB will confirm there are no roads long enough up this way to do any kind of high speed testing. The RT360 I was referring to was not mine ;)
