hiya just recently bought a cupra r & realised its the 210 version not the 225,which is fine but was wondering about getting it remapped up to 225,or is it worth doing it more if your gonna pay out to get it remapped, ime all new to these type of cars so ant advice & tips would be realy appreciated, cheers

If you have it mapped even a stage 1 will probably see between 245 and 270bhp ,
there are other things you could do to achieve 225 without a map but imo go for the mapping:p

cheers mate, yea i been looking at a few sites that do it,just wondering if the fuel consumption would be much worse,& if the power delivery is up the top end, dont wanna be revving the nuts off it to get anywhere

Fuel consumption apparently not that different, depends on driving really.
most maps produce added torque through the revs, aggressive maps start lower and give you the kick you back in your seat effect, progressive comes in a little later and keeps delivering to 5000 to 6000, so I'm told.
As to revving the nuts off it to get anywhere, you do own a cupra R, so you know you have plenty of power at your disposal already if you plant your foot, so more is just a bonus, no?
I started a thread a while back," mapping aggressive or progressive", not sure how to put a link to it on here so do a search and all your questions should be answered. If you go into my profile you can view threads by me and also find it that way. Good hunting.:D

fuel consumption is worse when you give it the beans, but on an average I tend to get 1-2mpg more out of mine now it's been mapped.

Even if you get a progessive map, as has been said, you will still have plenty enough torque for normal driving lower down the revs.... just nice to have that extra bit more higher up for when you are enjoying some 'spirited driving' haha

you gotta remember that there is a torque increase of some level throughout the entire rev range if the map is progressive - there will still be more power lower down the revs than standard... and you know that as standard theres plenty enough power for pottering about!

Remap in my opinion benifits best by the way it pretty much makes the car drive like it could be a diesel - i.e. overtaking without dropping down a gear coz of the extra torque... just generally nicer and more enjoyable to drive! definately worth doing!

P-Torque near Wolverhampton.... popular choice with many SCN folk!

That's where I'm off to when I can find the spondullies:D
Heard they do a more progressive map, good to use in the real world and less abuse to the clutch. Happy days!
The drive home should be FUN.

Pukka, just what the doctor ordered as a cure for my back pain, carpentry is a killer!
Also makes you smile I bet, and that's a cure for stress, so win win.
