remote fob not working

ive just got my toledo today and when i looked at it the remote locking WAS working but not now. i rang the dealer i got it from and he said that it had never worked (in other words sod off) is there a way i can reprogramme it ?? its a 1.8 20v yr 2000

look in the manual it tells you how to program them. think you will need 2 keys but not sure

just done what it says in the manual and still no luck.....

u sure the battery is not wanked out??

the battery is fine i got the little red light in the fob when i press the button but nothing is happening....

I would change the battery in the remote and see if that works.... I know the red light works but it take much less energy to light the LED than it does to power the Infa-red signal........

what batterys do i need for it? and is it easy to do ?

It just pops open with the help of a little screw driver..... Not looked so do not know the type of batteries
