Guess what? Just released this new model of AutoWindow, called "Brite". You can read more about it on the AutoWindow web site. It has the "Follow Me" function for headlights mentioned way back in this thread. Beams come on for 15 seconds when you arm/disarm the car in the dark.
If you have a Reflex already and want headlight functions of Brite, buy a Brite, and I'll send you a specialised unit that you install in the driver's door, attaching its wires to your AutoWindow Reflex's wires.. (which are already attached to the car so you don't have to go finding any new wires on the car). Stick it down on the door near the Reflex. It also has a longish wire you run to the fuse box for headlights, and it has a sensor to detect daylight. This is all covered in the install instructions that come with it.
Once installed, then you have the AUTO-BRITE feature whenever you arm or disarm the car in the dark. Also, the explicit FOLD (mirrors only) command for Reflex (UNLOCK UNLOCK LOCK) will explicitly turn on headlights for 15 seconds at the same time, regardless of day or nite, so this command takes on a double purpose. Using your Reflex normally, AUTO-BRITE comes along for the ride. Headlights will come on when needed .. in conjunction with folding activity and windows.. but you won't really have to think about it, it will just happen.
For existing Reflex customers only, what I can offer is a specialised Brite unit that has a somewhat simplified installation, but it will *depend on* a Reflex unit being in the car. Identify yourself as a Reflex owner when placing a Brite order, use regular delivery, and I will upgrade to express shipping at no charge - token of my appreciation as a repeat customer. Thank you!
