remote folding mirrors

I am getting used to it now, it's just you get into habits on how you unlock your car in diferent situations. Just a case of re-learning i spose.

Have been out looking at how the car unlocks, very weird.
The car seems (as Feel said) to add on an extra command, no matter how many commands you give it allways does an extra one :confused:
This would be ok but you can't just have one UNLOCK :confused: :(

I did think that i tried your parking idea and that it didn't work, but i may be (prob am) wrong. Will try tonight.

Right, I want to find out if the extra unlock is symptomatic of "selective unlocking" cars like yours is set to be right now.. or if it's a more general problem than that.

To use interior switch and have it keep mirrors folded, you must not use a Reflex folding command after leaving the car. Basically, if Reflex knows that it was used to fold mirrors.. it will try to unfold them when you re-enter. If it knows that it was not used to fold mirrors it will not try to unfold them.

I'd guess you've got a bad connection or picked the wrong wire - I managed to get the wrong wire when I did mine the first time (I think it was a red/white wire, that I got mixed up with a white/red wire). Scott's probably your best bet for diagnosing which wire though. Just a point though:

Yup, tested last night and does exactly what you said.

Worse problems now though :(

Unlocked car, mirrors folded out, door unlock as usual. Got in the car moved it to another car park, got out, pressed unlock-lock, car locked but mirrors didn't fold :confused:
Tried again, unlocked, open door, close door, unlock-lock, car locks no mirrors :censored:

Seems mirrors don't do anything, not even if i switch them manually :censored: :censored: :censored:

Nor do the windows activate off the key :( :thumbd:

Anyone had this happen????

Nope! Jesus mate, you are having some serious problems! Did all the step by step LED tests work ok then?

Yes mate all was fine till earlier :(

Just because i was feeling happy with it as i'm pretty much used to it now :censored:

Nothing works at all now :( :confused:
 
JR - maybe you turned the unit to OFF mode. By accident. It happens sometimes, so if nothing is working now but it was before - I think you've turned it off.
If you have moved the programming jumper to allow programming, try changing the program mode from the remote.

Takes a while to get used to these things and options, etc..

The "safe" way to operate until you are familiar with things is to leave the programming jumper set in place in the factory default mode. That way, you cannot be changing modes on yourself.
 
Remember: the jumper repositioned from the factory placement will *permit* changing mode from the remote. A remote squashed in a pocket has been known to change modes before without knowing it.

The only way to *prevent* changing mode is to keep the jumper in the factory default position.
 
Right, BLUE wire was my problem!

From your email :-
BLUE must connect to one of the wires running to the alarm LED in your car
(at the door lock knob). You can work this problem backwards by starting at
the
alarm LED, follow its 2 wires to a 2-pin connector. You probably took this
connector
apart to remove the door panel. Skip over the connector and now determine
the 2 wire colors
in the car's wiring harness for the alarm LED. AutoWindow BLUE will get
connected
to one of these two wires. You want the (+) pulse wire. It won't hurt to
try either one
but only one of them will be lucky. It should be a Purple with a Red trace
wire,
or White with a Purple trace wire that wins.

Did this, found the Purple with red trace, connected BLUE to it and WOW!.. It works.

One tip I would give is don't rush the commands!.. It does need 30 seconds as the instrutions say. :worship:


I also find the power mode more easy to control. :redface:

I think that selective locking also doesn't help the unit, they seem to 'argue' a bit with each other.

I'm sure we will get used to it.

Fitting advice

When installing.. before connecting any wire...
The *first thing* to do is locate all the wire colors at the tap points that you
will be needing in the driver's door ...before connecting anything to
any one of them.

If you encounter a difference that doesn't match up to what the installation
instructions are saying, please don't guess or make substitutions in choices
for wires. Attaching wires wrongly can have dire consequences for Reflex and/or
car electronics. If at all in doubt, please stop, document what you've found or not
found use email support before proceding.

Older instructions step#5 (WHITE) should say to connect to SEAT Leon wire
Yellow w/Grey, as noted earlier in this forum.
This has been updated in newer instruction manuals.

We have heard two cases where step #1 (BLACK) is not being connected
to suitable ground wire in the car (Brown, or Brown w/blue trace). Other
wires may "act" like a ground and the module may come to life and blink, and
even perform some commands.. but if the wrong ground wire is selected it could
have dire consequences for vehicle electronics when Reflex tries to actuate
mirrors for folding because of the higher currents going through mirrors.

If you have a volt meter, you might want to perform the "troubleshooting"
electrical tests on each wire just to be sure you're going for the right ones.

Volt meters don't lie, but eyes can be deceived when it comes to color.

We try to be very responsive to email, but due to time zone difference
(GMT-7) it may be necessary to close up your car wait for response.

I would imagine if you asked nicely and crossed his palm with cash he will fit them for you ;)

He took his time and made sure it worked at every step in the instructions as it was the first one that he had done.

Fitting wasn't bad at all in the end, would have been quicker if it hadn't been raining and we'd have realised what the double unlocking disable in vag-com actually does lol

Keep it nice and simple!

Leaving the car I press- Unlock then lock. shuts any open windows, folds mirrors and locks the car.

returning to the car I press unlock once and the mirrors fold out and doors unlock

Is it wrong to be pleased with something so simple? :redface:
