• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
If anyone's interested we could have a 'group-fitting' session at the RR day, i'll take you all through it step by step.

Just ordered mine hopefully with Christmas post it will be here by the RR day, wouldn't mind a few pointers on the RR day DU02 (managed to get a cancellation so I'll be there) will save me destroying the interior of my LCR.

Honestly, it's not that hard. With all the testing I've done (Chris and I had to duplicate the tests to confirm each other's results) I've had the door panel off more times than I can count.

The most cringe-worthy bit is getting the handle off the door without damaging it. If you do damage it, you could just replace that bit. Once that's off, it's really easy, although I'm sure having someone who's done it before would really help.

The next hardest bit is is getting the tape off the wiring (then remembering to put the rubber funnel thing back on the speaker)!

I was weary of touching the car's wiring, but honestly it's the easiest bit.

I'm not sure, I wondered what it was.

I'm guessing it's either for getting the door handle off (in which case it's might be very useful) or for getting the panel off once all the screws are out (in which case it's not so useful - that's what the door pocket is actually for!)

(I notice you've got Alcantara electric seats, have you got any photos?)

Damn, can't get PayPal to work correctly!

Keep getting an "TEMPLATE [] LOAD FAILED" error below my country after clicking continue. Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: Ok so I have now setup a PayPal account directly with them. But it will take a week or so for the $1.95 USD payment they have charged me to appear on my statement so I can then take the number off of it to enter back into PayPal to verify my card! All this before I can even attempt to buy this kit :( What a pain!

It wont let me spend £68 (with express delivery) without doing the confirm thing :( Looks like I have a credit limit of £0 without doing the confirm bit.

Shall I, Shan't I, Shall I, Shan't I??

Decisions, decisions...

Can't really afford it...

Good interest rate on credit card at the mo though...

Any-one want to buy me an early birthday pressie??

What a pain in the arse!!! Bloody PayPal! Why can they not just make it easy to order??!!

The 1.95 is a security thing you have to do it to spend money. when the 1.95 charge appears on your credit card this will have a security number on it.

Input this number into your paypal account and you will be verified. You do not need to be verified to spend money but you do have to accept th 1.95 charge, You get it back when you enter the code in any case.

Mark

Mine's ordered!!

Express Delivery as well, so hopefully it will arrive in time for Stealth!!

erm... what tools will I need to bring??

Any-one got any plasters??? I'm bound to cut myself...

From memory, tools you'll need (if they're not listed on the autowindow website) are:

Torx number 2 bit,
Normal sized posidrive (No 3 I think)
Small scissors and/or kraft knife for tape on loom
Pliers for squeezing on skotch-lock connectors

I haven't seen a production version as mine's a prototype, Scott tells me they're different, but I'd also bring along a small flat bladed terminal type screwdriver and some wire cutters/strippers.

Finally managed to order mine! Yay! :)

Had my Paypal account authorised and all works ok. For those getting PayPal cookie errors when trying to finalise their purchase of the AutoWindow kit this is due to the AutoWindow link at the beinging of this thread opening up their site in a frame. This frame continues into the PayPal site and therefore PayPal throws a wobbly. If this happens to you use the following URL instead of the one given at the begining of the thread (this opens their site outside of the frame): URL for AutoWindow site without frame.

Hope to get mine before the stealth day as well! 3 working weeks for international express delivery... lets see if that is the case!

And you'd need some kind of wide bladed lever thing/wooden wedge/plastic jobby to get the door handle off.
