• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
I think I will try and fit it myself also. While I am at it I will try and fit my Bluetooth in car kit for my phone. Shouldn't be too complicated to do... I hope!

No, it's not that difficult.

Tricky bit to recognise the colours of the wires, some are hard to spot (what's white with red flash vs. red with white flash, if you get my drift). Take your time, read the instructions through once or twice before starting, and make sure you pick AND STICK TO the correct column for your car on the instructions.

The instructions come with a test to do after connecting each wire, so you know straight away if you did the last connection correctly, and I think you'll be able to do it in stages (i.e. windows, then mirrors)

Honest - you can't go far wrong.

Phil's right - you will install in stages. First you must get remote window commands working so that is 8 wires in the driver's door. Each wire has a test to perform after making the connection to know you got the right car wire. Then you attach the driver's mirror with 4 more wires. And do some *remote mirror commands* hoo-ray! But you only get to watch one mirror flap about. Then, when you get time you repeat the process and install the passenger's side mirror by running a cable with 4 wires over to that door. The door tool that is included in the promotion kit is handy for popping door panels off. I didn't mention this in the instructions, but it is fine to have just windows and no mirrors connected and run that way it you have to. It's also OKAY to connect just the driver's mirror and have only "one remote folder".. If you do decide to split the job into two parts, at least poke the grey cable into the car via the door's rubber conduit so it is not necessary to return inside the driver's door. Just make sure the exposed ends of the cable wires are not touching anything until you complete the job.

Cheers!

As soon as supply of a sub-assembly comes in for Reflex it will be put up on the main AutoWindow web site. If you missed the promotional offer you'll be able to order Reflex in about a week.

thanks for hanging in there

Recieved my foldy mirrors module today!!! woohooo! can't fit it yet cos my car is at the bodyshop having the sideskirts put on, but as soon as i get it back, i'm gonna attempt the module. instructions are a bit...urm...hard to follow...mainly text, not many diagrams...

Read them a couple of times and it'll become clear - top tip, if your instructions have different columns of wire colours for different cars (mine did), blank off the columns you don't want so that you don't connect to the wrong wire

Call me Lazy!!

Received my auto window device today. Whilst it looks straight-forward enough with clear fitting instructions, and a tool to remove the door panel, I don't think I'll be attempting it.

Thanks Scott for the efficient service.

I have to admit, it does look a lot more complex than I originally thought. I have not received mine yet but have seen all the info/feedback in this thread. I have a horrible feeling it might gather dust in the box in my garage!

This might be a question for autoScott really but...

If you set the lock to fold the mirros in with one press of the key button, and unlock with one press as well, then use the key in the door to lock and unlock will the windows wind up and mirrors fold in?

The reason I ask is because I would like the mirros to fold in with the use of my clifford remote not the seat one, and the clifford is wired in so doesn't use the standard remote reciever on the car.

Got my kit this mornining! Yay! Thanks Scott.

It does look quite complicated to fit (as far as the removing of door panels etc. goes). I am a little concerned about damaging the door panel and the plastic membrane, but I think if I am carefull it should be fine.

I just need to find time to fit it (need to get off my lazy arse ;)). While I am at it I should probably fit the Bluetooth handsfree kit I have had for a while as well :)
