Remote parking

I have just bought a new Terramar V2 1.5. I’ve downloaded the my Cupra app on my iPhone and linked it to the car. I can’t see a remote parking function on the app, although the car is supposed to have this functionality. Has anyone else found the remote parking feature or used it?

Congrats on the car.

My guess is that you are referring to this function listed in the brochure:

Intelligent Park Assist (with parking
route memory)

Nothing to do with the App - is managed within the car. I've never tried it - falls into the bucket of 'when I need functions like that then I'll be taking the bus'!

The remote parking function allows the driver to exit the vehicle and pilot it remotely using the APP. It's for entering and exiting tight parking spaces.

You set the parking spot from within the vehicle.

Once initiated, you have to keep your finger on the button within the APP to keep the vehicle moving.

I'll be guided by your vastly superior experience James_R but the Cupra App I have isn't capable of this function - is it specific to pure EVs I wonder?

I've only ever personally seen it on a Tavascan, that's not to say it isn't available on other models though.

Thanks guys! Mmmm yes it’s that function that you are talking about James. It’s listed as a feature of the terramar on the Cupra website but I can’t see it on my app. Does anyone have experience of actually using it on a Terramar or is the brochure and website inaccurate and the Terramar is missing the remote parking feature?

A hidden feature . Perhaps someone can show where it is on the app with a screenshot. May be it is supported in the car but not written into the app yet ?. Android or Apple ?. Just a thought.

So I checked the manual- it says that you first need to synchronise your phone app with the park assist system, by selecting the P icon on the infotainment screen and then going to settings. I did that but there is no remote parking option in that settings menu so I guess that the Terramar does not currently have the remote parking function, which is a bit of a disappointment as it is advertised as having it on the Cupra UK website and in the brochure.

Possible get the lead tech of the dealer onto it then escalate to Cupra Customer services if you get nowhere. James should know above. I could believe that it might be a function of the car but yet written into the app may be or some extra process not covered.

If it was marketed with the function but it's not available, then there will probably an asterisk somewhere that says "Park assist plus*"

& is there that * or Cupra have the right to vary the spec as described although that type of parking is pretty unique. You wouldn't want it withdrawn if parked in a tight spot .

No, there is no asterisk- it is definitely advertised as a feature on the V2 model. A bit of a mystery! I can’t imagine that I would use it very often but it would be nice to have in case someone parked too close for me to get in the driver’s door!
