Removing and Fitting Roof Rails

Finally my ebony black roof rails have arrived along with my spoiler, I want to fit them this weekend however to my suprise when I opened up the packaging I found the roof rails come attached to the door seal

I just wondering if anyone has removed their roof rails before and got any hints or advice on how to do this?

I normally remove the roof rails when cleaning my cars (OCD Detailer) but I havn't attempted this yet on the cupra so will be a shot in the dark

Looks like im going to have to remove my ones with thier seals and then some how attach the black ones with their seals...?

they are cliped along the top and the rubber bit that seals the door and down the side of the windscreen is stuck down! get a sharp blade and just lift it alittle and slice the sticky stuff untill it lifts off! one problem you mite find tho is the bit the goes down the side of the screen may have had the screen and glue lifted in on it! this will be a problem!

Yeh this is the issue, Im thinking though that maybe I can cut the seal and that way they will be seperated and there won't be much of an issue with removing the current seals.

Think will have a good look at the ebony black ones to see how I can go about this, I don't think many people have tried this mod so will update it once I have done it for future reference.
