Yes I do enjoy driving her car as its comfy and quick for what it is and cheap to run as its fantastic on fuel.
BUT I do prefer the mk2 in almost every other way.

I can't think what to get next either. Thought about Audi & BMW V6s but then went in a 318d auto 140bhp. They change gear like nutters. The increased fuel from the 6 pot would worry me and I find myself thinking I could live with a 320d auto.

Then thought about a 325d... half way but still a 6 pot.

Think I want a cab also as I must be due a midlife crisis.

TT cab CR170 or 320d auto cab?

I do like the 159 too. It still worries me that they still have a reputation and I've had enough of issues with my Leon.

Oh and finally, my brother just bought a Scirocco 210 and it's lush. Blue CR170 DSG?

After working on alfa's for 16 years its not a place you want to go.
Lets face it people have problems with their Leon's.
Alfa's go through suspension arms yearly not to mention egr valves inlet manifolds oil cooler pipes gearboxes steering racks steering locks key readers.
Just to name a few and oh they don't make them anymore.

Yeah there's a few sayings for that and they all mean the same.

Lmao

I can't recommend Alfas either.
Gearboxes seem to be part of a standard small service :)
They should throw them in free

In terms of an economy to power ratio I think BMW's engines are far superior to VAG at the moment :(

From a diesel perspective at least! Don't really look into petrol much any more! :)

The new engine in the 1 series looks good, it's also going into a lot of other BMW models. A 1.5 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine producing 167bhp (I think)! 0-60 in 7 seconds and fuel economy of 65mpg.

It's not a supercharger , turbo charger affair is it? If it is I know what's coming !
