I have just got a new climate control screen to replace my old one because it was bleeding (black blobs on either side). Does anyone know how to get the old one out. I can't seem to remove the facia around it. Do I need to remove the stereo first?

Thanks

Thanks for advice so far. I did search before, but didn't find any info on actually fitting the unit. So any advice would be really usefull, probably not just to me either.

Thanks

Goto guides-interior-double DIN dash conversion.

That'll show you how to get the facia off - and access to the CC unit which has 1 torx screw on either side. It then pulls forward, and you'll need to disconnect all the cables at the back.

Should be a 10min job :)

It only takes about 20 mins start to finish, I had the same problem and replaced mine.

First you need to remove the radio, and the ashtray also has to come out (ashtray has one silver screw holding it in). Then from memory you need to remove two torx screws round the stereo area and also two screws behind the ashtray you have just removed. Then the whole 'silver'grey' surround comes away revealing two torx screws fixing the climate control system in place. Unplug, fit your new one and it's done.

The above is from memory so there may be the odd extra screw in there somewhere to remove but that's the basics. I'm sure someone on here can give you a more detailed rundown, but if I can do it anyone can (trust me)!!

Just as a quick aside, on my replacement one the screen illuminates but the buttons don't, I;m sure they did when I first fitted it, any advice? Got it from e-bay so can;t take it back!!

Hope the above is of some help!!

As mentioned above - following my guide with photos found here:

You'll need to step 3 only.

Si - did you check all your cables were in firmly? Might have a loose cable somewhere perhaps?

just did all the above today actually to remove and refit my cup holder, fooking coil spring is duffed on mine (anyone changed theirs and have their old one left over>)
Very easy to get off and refit.

Thanks for all your advice. I will have a go this week, and try not to c**k it up lol.
