Resetting all OBD changes

Hi,

I have recently bought a 16 plate Seat Leon ST FR 184 and have already been making some changes with my OBDeleven. Before making the first change or even plugging the device in, I noticed my car already had the needle sweep and FR boot logo - so I know the previous owner had made some changes. However, when I have tried to make some changes (CH/LH lights and lock/unlock chirp) it hasn't worked, and I fear this is because of changes the previous owner has made. So can I reset all OBD changes to the factory settings? If I can how would I do this?

Thanks - Harry

The only foolproof way to get everything properly set back to default values is to visit a dealer.

They will be able to hook up their diagnostic equipment to your car that has a connection to the VAG online servers and which is then able to use Software Version Management (SVM) to reset the coding and adaptation values of all the control modules back to the values they were set to when your car rolled off the production line.

I've heard that Audi charge an arm and a leg to perform this. However, if you've just purchased it then you should be alright.

When you're using your OBDEleven, there is an option to back up the settings. While I haven't done this myself because I'm a rebel without a cause, it's a good idea to do so. I've messed a setting up and only by pure luck did I fix it.

Thanks for the replies both,
Unfortunately the dealer I bought it from is a fair distance from myself as I caught a good deal and travelled up. So ideally travelling back there isn't something I want to do for the sake of a few features
DEVJORD when you say and arm and a leg how much roughly are we talking? Could you also tell me how to make a full backup so when I restart it I can save this
Thanks

I'm not sure how much they charge but a friend at work had to get it done on his S5. Now that's Audi and they charge him something like £600 for a service. It's worth calling up your local dealer and asking them how much they would charge.

The backup option is in Adaptations from memory.

I have spoken to the dealer I purchased the car from and they assure me the member of staff didn't change anything.
Although I don't believe them, I can't be bothered to argue with them anymore
Would anyone know the original values for the changes made in CH/LH lights and the lock/unlock chirp? I just want to reset to normal then play around so I know I have a clean back up if all goes wrong

If the dealer you purchased the car from isn't playing ball then you still have the option of going to another dealer to have a "factory reset" done on all the control modules.

A diagnostics check is £79 on the SEAT fixed price plan. All they will be doing is running a scan of the car (effectively a diagnostics check) first before then applying default factory configuration to each of the control modules. I can't see how it would cost any more than £150 tops.

Mine came with fr boot logo and I had a test in the salesmans car which had needle sweep. Could all be above board. Have you tried other adaptations. Turn off seatbelt warning and turn off door open/ignition on alarm worked for me with obd11.
