Retro fit steering wheel

Lately I've noticed a few cars from VAG retro fit new steering wheels to earlier models, I've seen the mk3 S3 steering wheel on a mk1 S3 and have recently come across the golf mk6 gti steering wheel fitted to a mk4 golf gti.

The big question is, does anyone know if the mk2 flat bottom steering from the 09 reg Leon Cupra R models can be fitter to the mk1 LCR's or not? Has anyone out their tried it and if so how does it look?

Spoke to a VAG specialist yesturday, apparently it can be done, however the steering wheel button controls may not work..

Not sure I still want to do it anymore as I found this which looks much more OEM
