I have had issues with my retrofitted MIB2 unit when using CarPlay from the moment I got it done. It was just random disconnects which was not that annoying cuz they didn’t happen very often and most of the time it auto reconnects or I just select my phone again to connect.

Recently tho I’ve noticed that when playing music, the playback suddenly stops and a buzzing sound starts playing with the playback showing as it is continuing on the display.

There are a couple ways I found that fix the playback temporarily. One is to lower the volume all the way down or just press the mute button on the steering wheel. Restarting the unit also works.

I tried changing cables and it did not work even tho all the cables I’ve tried have been of high quality and pretty expensive. I tried an adapter from usb a to usb c to try and use the original Apple cable that came with the phone but it does not make a difference. It happens with other phones too not just mine.

Has anyone had this issue or anything related? I am a little bit out of options. The only things left to do is ask here or contact East Yorkshire Retrofits directly, since the unit was bought from them, so any help is appreciated.
