Retrofitted RNS510 now no phone Book

Hello All,

I have installed a VW RNS510 unit in my Leon Mk2 TDi 140 Sport 55 Plate - replacing a MFD2 unit.

All works well, bar the MFD Phone book which doesn't show and steering wheel buttons which don't work bar the volume buttons. When I use the phone button on the RNS it just mutes.

The factory fitted bluetooth module appears to sync up with iPhone ok.

Any ideas on how I can get the phonebook / voicecontrol / steering wheel buttons working again would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi

You will need to get the can gateway coded to tell it that it has a RNS 510 installed. This will also fix the the steering wheel buttons.

As for the phone button on the radio itself, this will only mute unless you have a premium bluetooth module (this will show the phonebook etc on the display of the radio) and not the standard bluetooth module (this will just mute the radio).

Thank you for your advisory. I have a vagcom cable and vcds so could you let me know how I go about registering the RNS510 with the gateway?

You got to go into navigation & untick the BAP option & re-boot the navi:
