rev limiter???

does a 95 ibiza salsa 1.4 have a rev limiter??? i drove my 1.4 up to 6000 revs the other night and it seemed like a rev limiter kicked in?? any wisdom good thanks

used to be a built in one on some of the rotor arms in the past

either that or the valves were bouncing be nicer to it - poor thing

more then likey the valves were bouncing, poor little things wont be able to keep up

After 4500 revs you have gone past your peak power so any more & your not gaining any more out of it, just wasting petrol and killing it!

Exactly. Most of the power in the 1.4's is in the bottom end of the rev's, going past 4500-5000 revs isnt worth it. As has been said, just wasting petrol and killing the engine.
