So bought a Red Cupra R for £1400 with no mot. Well my father did as it was local to him and 200 miles from me so he did the honours of looking and buying. Now I'm currently with the motor and the work has commenced.

Failled mot on
Exhaust shot, 2nd hand DP and Cat, 2nd hand SS cat back
One front drop link, both replaced.
Number plate bulbs
One tyre, pair replaced with Goodyear F1s

Faults so far still need fixing in no order:
Rear 3rd brake light not working
Rear wash hose leaking - fixed
Central locking issue relating to drivers door - Need to remove and clean micro switch
Door seals shot (front edge of both rear doors) -
Headlights need a restore -
Manifold to Turbo gasket blowing - Garage needed to undo one stuck bolt
Fit stereo hands free - done
Sticky rev counter - fixed my remounting dial face which had slipped slightly
Front splitter broken only one side left - remove and source new one
Dam good clean and polish to bring the colour back -
Alloys refurb and colour change -
Window tints
Service, plugs, oil, filter -
Lower suspension -

Manifold to turbo gasket. Two bolts out easy, 3rd a complete and absolute nightmare. First would turn at all. Finally after about 2 hours of beating and swearing it moved until the threaded insert decided to also move at the same time which then caused more problems. Ended up welding a nut on top to finally get the both out. New bolts and gasket tomorrow from seat which hopefully will go in ok and the threaded sleeve will turn back in and tighten up I'm hoping.

Complete head stress for one silly bolt

Several problems replacing the turbo exhaust gasket. Sleeve wound out with the bolt. Then bolt ended up rounded of.

Solution was to weld a nut on and finally remove the stubborn turbo bolt.

Getting the sleeve back in flush was a bit of cleverness. Shoulder bolt wound down which slowly screwed the sleeve back in. A quick snap to release the shoulder bolt from the top and was able to fit new gasket, bolts and washers.

That in total was not much fun but now complete and sounds good.

Front splitter also fitted so looks a ton better as well now.
