Just had the 5 hour trial from REVO KEV at inters last night. It is an absolute awsome feeling! Straight down the country lanes and onto the M1 felt great. Unfortunatly i was stuck in a 2mph traffic for 3 hours so im afraid I've lost most of my trial time! Nevertheless, I want this permanently!

A couple of guys from the custom code stand approached me just after i had the revo installed and commented on how good the revo software was.... however they explained how it runs out of puff early where as CC continues onto about 6-6.5k. I felt a great responce from REVO, but as the guy said it runs out of puff a bit early.

Just wanted to know if anyone here has had any experiences with these companies, and what your opinions are. Also has anyone had experience with APR?? I would like to get some feedback so I'm know i'm getting the best value for my money.

Thanks

Something else to bear in mind is once you've got full software on there it's actually adjustable so you can in fact set it up to be less aggressive and more linear with a big or little kick. Depends what you want out of it!

Also from speaking to Kev yesterday the delivery of the Revo Stage 1 can be tweaked to your requirements. Apparently the trial is fairly crude in comparison to the full code.

Too late... :)

I remember you speaking of that sps module which my mate has for his s3. I can just pinch his! All i want is the remap and a miltek exhaust, so i guess i can tweak it after I've had it mapped to suit my personal 'taste'!!

Interesting sales technique

But the comment about Revo tailling off is wrong. My wifes Ibiza on Revo stage 1 hit maximum power at ~5500rpm, then flatlined (not tailled off)

It's all in the settings.

it is... but as installed its on boost 6, and ign to suit customer fuel..
SPS3 being an extra to buy (or borrow of a mate :p ) and ideally vag-com or access to it to see what works best.

Depends I think on if you are inclined to tweek it or just want it as installed.
If tweeking then vag-com and SPS3 are req'd, which an option REVO has over other products about.

(lemmiwinks/custom settings can do ign and load (boost) downwards if you get the right cable)

exactly bill!

Early 'issues' gave it a bad name, prior to people understanding anything

so it was on with the N75J, HB9 T9 std IC & wonder why it died off....

SPS3 unit to begin with (presuming yours is dbw petrol) which will allow you to turn boost up & down, and allow ign settings to be adjusted up and down. Needs to be done in conjunction with logging with vag-com type software & lead. (www.ross-tech.com)
In the REVO section kev did an SPS3 user guide which would help you setup things and interpret the logged figures.. also a wealth of experience on SCN from those that log their own.

Typically... more boost = more kick, BUT the downside is heat... especially if the weather is warm. Std intercooling on the vag cars do limit power when the ecu see's high intake temps from the more aggressive settings that can be dialed in. The ecu is adaptive and is very quick to adapt downwards (safety) which results in slower than lower settings on the whole. Generally you dont get a big kick at the bottom and hold it to the top on k03/s turbo's as they are physically small and cannot flow that much at higher rpms.
