Hi all,

I've tried searching for an answer to this but no joy. Took my Mk2 Cupra into the local dealer last week to have the climate control looked at and since it came out it seems nowhere near as powerful as it was before it went in? Does them plugging it in wipe the remap at all?

Cheers,

Jon.

If they updated the ECU software (which they often do to the latest version) then yes, it may well have.

If they had the battery off for any length of time it'll be wiped. They may also have updated the ECU with more recent software from SEAT?

Revo will happily upload the code again, but I believe they charge about £50. Not sure if you need your receipt.

+1

Also with revo, if they have disconnected the battery, it resets the settings of the revo map back to stock.
All I had to do was take it to a revo dealer and they will reflash it for you free of charge.

With revo, if the battery is disconnected for a while (more than 20mins i think), it doesn't wipe the revo software, it resets the settings back to stock. They just need to be adjusted again using an SPS switch or taking it to a revo dealer

This is untrue as I had my battery out for an hour the other day as i put a new plastic battery cover on and put my battery on charge then forgot about it :)

To say it's untrue a large number of people appear have experienced it.

OP has potentially had a firmware flash rather than a battery disconnection then? Maybe the OP could ask the Dealer if they had the battery off or did anything with the ECU to clarify?

In the time I had my FR I had the battery disconnected a few times for only 10 mins and it lost the revo settings everytime.
Thats why when you have Revo you need a SPS.

only the 2.0 TFSI engines when removing the battery will revert to stock settings (REVO map still installed). This is a feature that customers wanted adding into this map incase of an accident etc. See the REVO facebook page there is a comment not that long ago regarding this.

im sorry, SRS ? what is this . . .
i want my Tfsi FR done, but nearest Revo is feckin ages away for me! i have no reason to remove the battery for any lengthy time or even atall. but you never know. and if it ever goes into seat can i just request they dont update my ecu ?

Am i right in saying that the SPS only stores and switches the MAP settings? In other words, it wouldn't be worth me getting one of these until i get the REVO settings back right?

If your car has only lost its settings you can set it back up using a SPS but if your car has had an update and wiped the Revo then you would need to go to a Revo dealer to have it reinstalled.
You'll probably have it sorted by now mate?

Cheers dude, maybe it's worth getting one then. Nearest Revo dealer is 3 hours away from me, so i'll have to wait to get time off work. Gotta be done though, it's doing my nut in now
