Revo v APR vote!! (not what you think, please read)

At the end of the day the majority of people will not know the difference between either of the maps when installed on their cars on day to day driving.
I'm glad APR are pushing their product, as previously said somewhere else on the forum, this will help with the price war and we will all benefit from this.
My car is not mapped, but 1 would probably go for APR, just like I would buy a Galaxy S over an Iphone.

All products whether it be computers, software or tuners will have fanboys - but that's generally because they are happy with the product. Revo are popular for a reason. Let's not kid ourselves, they might not be saints, but over the last few years they've serviced the VAG community pretty damn well. And I dare say if Poverty hadn't been over here shouting about ARP (regardless of his reasons - not a dig btw) Revo would still be the popular choice. As Al has said, competition can only be a good thing for product development. What concerns me is if people are being persuaded to jump ship and spend money for the sake of it.
It's a shame the majority of people won't look outside Revo or APR. There are some excellent alternatives, although granted dealers aren't as widespread. GIAC and, IMO to a lesser extent, P-Torque offer excellent products. From what I am hearing Evomsit are one to keep an eye on too.
My personal choice, after chatting to various people, was GIAC and I've been very happy with my car for 4 yrs. In that time I've had a couple of misfires and that's it. No huge flat spot either. Granted, the file I have is not GIAC's most aggressive map, but its very smooth and will produce 360BHP all day long.

In all seriousness, i'm going APR stg2 purely because of the £300 deal. If revo had the same then I would of tossed a coin. Great things from both sides.
I could have upgraded my bluefin to stg2 for £50, but I fancied a change, plus having had a few issues with the superchips map.

I'm also a neither I did some research on here and decided to go with Will at P-Torque very happy bunny but then I probably would have been happy with REVO or APR as with all mappers they change the way your car runs and for the most part any way it feels better.
To the uninitiated which is the majority getting a stage 1 from any mapper will feel good the real differences come when other major mods are involved and people are trying to wring the maximum performance out of there cars whilst trying to keep it reliable and drivable this is where we start to really push the envelope and those who really know what they are doing come to the fore after all it's just another engineering conundrum heck look at Formula 1 they really know how to push the envelope and wring the maximum out of a car whilst still trying to make sure it does the 60 or so laps of the course preferably in first place

whats this deal you speak of?
i would have gone with will but the £200 in fuel toget there and home too, may aswell go for something else in the £500 region, i.e apr / revo.

id probably say nither as most of the maps are just the same with a slight tweek here and ther for the casual enthusiast
you can get beter performance than any of these companys offer (more performance = more risk)

If you currently have a competitor map then you can swap to APR at a discounted price

I chose APR for a few reasons, a few mates had MK1 LCR's with APR on them and made the REVO Switch, a few of them havent been happy with there cars since, i decided i wanted APR on the car before i realised APR was opening a HQ round the corner.
I am a paying APR Customer, Im not interested in the whole debate, im happy with the car, im happy with the power and im happy with the customer service i have received, im also happy i have somewhere to hang around at 1am playing with cars lol
