Rolling Road - disappointment

Just been on a rolling road and it seems my '01 Leon Cupra is making 171 BHP and 180 ft/lb torque.

The torque is up, but why would I be down 9 BPH?

I have a Carbonio induction kit, Forge recirc valve, and an earthing kit (full tank of Sainsburys finest).

Stock figures are 178bhp and 173lbft, your results are normal and within the tolerances of a dyno, losing a small amount of bhp is usually down to temps, tyre pressures, etc. Dyno your car on a freezing cold winters day and your figures will be higher.

The fuel may be a give away;)

What do you mean, sainsburys finest? 95 ron supermarket fuel?

I know on the inside of my fuel cap it says run on 98ron only, i would imagine the LC being similar?

If thats the case, no wonder your down on power, your ecu will be retarding like a mofo :cartman:

Hi There

Don't get too worried.

What mileage have you done in your car?

Don't fully rely on a rolling road result, where did you get the rolling road done?

A simple check is your MAF, you can check this with VAG-COM

My Leon has done 58k and the rolling road was:

Hyper Sports & Racing Ltd
Hindley Green
Wigan

forge boost valve? whats one of them? You mean recirc valve?

rolling roads are not 100% accurate FACT

Yep, Just been reading another thread, I meant recirc valve

No, Sainsburys 97 RON ;)

I'm reasonably sure my MAF is on the way out, also the car is in serious need of an oil change and a new plugs.

I was kinda after help sorting my problems out, still I'm glad your happy lol ;)

id actually say theres nowt wrong with your car bud

ok its a few down on standard figures but as already mentioned, heat, supermarket fuel, tyre pressure and just a general guestimate by the rollers could account for it plus any number of other forces

you only have superficial mods really and nothing that you should be expecting any power increase from

if it were me...i know id be abit annoyed that i didnt even get the target figure but it really isnt that important. you never said what reason you have to believe your mafs on its way out, and set of old rusty plugs may have affected your run a little bit but really that isnt such a bad figure

all you gotta remember is if your gonna run again to see how it fairs after a few more mods, you gotta take it back to the same place otherwise the differences dont really count

sorry m8 lost myself
i would be checking my maf and dv m8
or try vag.com do u think u are losing boost anywhere
but if it is standard m8 i would say that's not far of what it should be
when i had mine revo'd i thought i would get 200bhp but mine figures are right.

What were your at the wheels figures? These are more accurate and I can dig out my readings when my car was pretty much the same setup as yours.

JJ it could be something as simple as heat soak, how long was the car sat before the run. Ive noticed that turning the car off for 20 mins actually increases heatsoak as the heat in the block travels up the head and the inlet manifold turns untouchable, I find a two minute blast before going onto the rollers actually lowers intake temps whci h can only be a good thing.
