The Beginning
Well after being on here for over 3 years and an unregistered viewer for about 6 months prior to that i have actually started a readers ride thread
Where to start, bought the car back in October 07 as a completely standard model, the day i test drove it
DSC00015.jpg

This is what i traded in, looks a bit girly but handled beautifully and lovely V6 engine note

Some pics after a clean

Anyhow the car stayed standard for about 4 months then i had the urge to play with it (the car)
Fitted the ever popluar 007p first then had issues with boost, turns out the standard TIP had split 80-90% of the way round so warranty replacement
This spurred me into more things

Next was a Neuspeed set of front and rear anti roll bars in 25 and 28mm, sneakily seen through the back wheel
DSC00083.jpg

Still unsure if fatter droplinks are required for the front
DSC00086.jpg

DSC00141.jpg

DSC00090.jpg

A new inlet pipe and boost hose with green panel filter to aid breathing and stop crap pipes dying on me, so old one out
DSC00091.jpg

New ones in and an S3 front strut brace too
DSC00114.jpg

Then had the usual leaking wash wiper joint in the boot
DSC00147.jpg

DSC00148.jpg

Then added some very useful gauges

Anyway by this time my brakes had worn out and wanting to take it on the track i thought i would invest in some decent stopping equipment to suppliment the brembos

I then got some Weitec GT coilovers and poly wishbone bushes to help with the abuse it will get
Link to LCR wishbone rebushing guide
Then fitted with lots of help from Phillc, the rear was a bit low to start with but we wont go into that

All fitted

19052010032.jpg

Had a slight problem with springs compressing differently but Damian@ DPM who i got the kit from sorted it out
So left it settling before an alignment check

Oh and if you are working on the back of a lowered car always keep an eye out on the front

Small update
Had the headlights quickly realigned today just to stop any possibility of bliding people now i have the HIDs
Also since the exhaust system was fitted and subframe dropped i have been making some small adjustment to the coilovers to try and perfect the handling
Got it feeling quite nice so i thought i would take it for aligning to finish it off now it has settled
The garage i use have had a new ramp and i can no longer get on, a few other local places are not to clued up on how i want it setup either.
So now thinking of taking it to a specialist to corner weighting and setting up properly as a fast road car
Anybody know anyone around the Worcester area who does this (and has low ramps)??

Its been a very neglected car recently as i have bought a house that needs lots of work doing on it
Need to finish relocating battery then add a 3" TIP with a rather large cone i have my eye on
Up rate engine mounts ready to do intercooler pipes in welded ally with a custom enlarged charge pipe following a shorter route than OE
Been looking at GT2871R long term but big costs involved
Thinking either hybrid K04 now or off to AET for a custom built turbo

About time mate :)

Great work here, I'm sure you'll keep it up. The mods are decent and you know what's right for the car.

Looking forward to the battery re-locate and 'that' filter going in ;)
