Hello chaps, put my Mk1 Leon Cupra 180 APP on the rollers at awesome the other weekend to see what power its got, Remapped car (unsure of what map) Filter, Forge 007, car done 172bhp so pretty low but 254 ftlb! Which would make me think the car has a stage 1 map going off the torque figure.

Car pulls really really well to 4.5k then after that seems to tail off a bit and you can feel it sort of boost surging and holding back after then, any ideas chaps?

I was thinking possibly leaking boost from the DV or even the wrong spring, is it a green spring for a mapped car? defenitley feels boost related issue

Do you have a print out of the curve? That torque must be tailing off pretty quickly to be giving that bhp figure

Need to see printout, guess-work otherwise.

Lots of things can cause power loss. Boost leaks? Running rich/lean? Broken thermostat or coolant temp sensor? TIP collapsing or split? Just for starters...

judging by your power and torque figures it could be a host of things like 8bit states

i know when i rr my stage 1 LCR with stage 2 supporting mods it only made 232bhp with 256lbsft of torque. power and torque curves were all smooth and good, but requested boost was shown as not being right on the boost graph. it tailed off instead of holding after its initial peak, leading me to check for boost leaks and also replacement of the n75 valve. my car is running a lot better after replacing the n75 valve but i think there is still a slight issue with boost just by looking at my in car boost gauge, think i need to check every hose for splits now :(

Surely requested boost should stay the same regardless of boost leaks etc. Only actual boost would suffer. I would say you either have a map problem or no problem at all. Boost will tail off as the turbo struggles to keep up

I cant believe it would make that torque if there was a problem. I reckon the figures are wrong

doubt the figures will be wrong on all 3 runs, and tbh dude i've ran 2 other cars at awesome gti and had spot on results both times. one was a totally standard car too so was easy to know if there accurate etc...

going to check boost this afternoon and get the vag com out to check requested and actual boost values. then will check all the obvious things. will upload a graph piccy later on today.

The figures are spot on considering how the car drives too i think its a good accurate graph.

split PCV hose found, replaced with some hose i had lying round the garage until TPS opens monday. hesitation has gone now and seems to pull ALOT stronger and smoother!

sounds like you have similar symptoms to me , mine made 222bhp and 234 ft/lb s and , now made 187bhp and same torque with surge issues but mine is actuator

i will still upload it mate for you to have a look at :) car is so much better now its untrue! Roll on monday to order a nice genuine hose from TPS. Cars getting somewhere already only had it 2 weeks lol

I always take my car to awsome gti for rr sessions and other work. Sometimes the torque figure can be abit optamistic but gives a spot on bhp figure so i cant figure out why urs is down, unless its something to do with the n75 or a boost leak somewer

as said above dude it feels like the spit pcv hose was the main issue, after a cambelt and waterpump change through the week i'm on the save for some CH's then a nice pipewerx turbo back jobbie, front mount then keep my eyes open for a k04 set up to bolt on and wait for the rods to bend themselves :)
