Hello everyone.

Im in the middle of upgrading my ICE at the mo and need to run RCAs down the middle of my car. I want to spend some time doing right without lashing it up!

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do this, or are there any guides?? Do I have to remove a seat to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Dan

I done this in my old car i just removed the passenger seat, but remember to disconnect the battery for about 30mins first so you don't set off the airbag in the seat.

Cool, thanks Jarvista.

Just out of interest, why should I leave it 30 mins before disconnecting the battery?

Also, are there any existing cables that I should follow to the rear of the car from the front to keep it neat?

You have to disconnect the battery to discharge the airbags otherwise they could explode when you disconnect them. I don't know if there are any other wires down the centre of the car, they usually just run down the sides. You could alway tape the wires into place, the carpet will keep them down aswell.

Disconecting the battery and waiting 30mins or so is just a precaution before you disconnect the airbags. It's just to make sure the system is discharged when unplugged. In actual fact it's more a problem when you plug them back in with the battery still connected.

Take both seats out and then pull the carpet up out of the way to lay the cables.

Then again, you could do it the proper way and remove the lot to run cables

Could prob do it in that time myself, only difference would be is half the interior would be scratched, ripped or torn and i'd have about fifty bolts left in my hand after putting it all back in.

i'd agree....take the passengers seats out.....do it once and do it proper!

Sweet, thanks for your advice. I went ahead with this with a friend of mine last weekend not to the extreme level as Icecavern though! :)

We ended up taking the passenger seat and plastics out to do this but it went really well and only took 2 hours including disconnecting the battery. Not bad for a first attempt i think :D .

The only think that we found awkward was taking the front seat out and disconnecting the cable only becuase we had never had tackled this before.

Thanks again for your advice.
