Rust prevention/Painting of brake disks

exactly, get the hammerite that you put on with a small brush. that will prevent you getting tonnes on the braking surface itself.

is it just me or does it look like cupraelliot got more paint on the brake surface than on the parts you're supposed to paint?? lol

and did you paint the rubbers as well?

I prefer the brush on stuff for jobs like this, saves the masking up. Leaves a very nice finish, almost a sprayed on effect. It's the formulas in the paint that cover up all the brush marks, 'rollable' formula or something.

I just went to BnQ and bought a big pot of normal gloss black Hammerite paint.

Good plan mate, gonna go and get myself some tomorrow Definitely gonna do all the other bits while im there, makes it all look so much better!!

That was just after I had done them Reuvers, after a quick run off the drive and stabbing of the brakes to clear any excess paint. You can let it go on that area anyway,first time you drive it scrapes straight off the disc and leaves a nice neat circle.

I probablys did go over the rubbers too, but it it's not meant to be there it will just come off itself anyway

hmm...i certainly wouldn;t recomend either of those things. Rubbers could dry out/crack due to the paint.

the rest of the metal looks good, I just would have been a bit more careful
