I bought my last car from *****s (Ibiza FR) about 6 years ago and during that time I couldn't fault them. However since then most the staff I knew from service and parts have moved on.
To cut a long story short, we had gone there to look at a 6 month old Leon FR but decided against buying it and seeing what offer they could offer us on a new one when giving them a broker quote. Seemed totally uninterested in selling us a car and if anything slightly obstructive. We ended up going to Crewe to buy an ex-demo from them.
The car we bought from Crewe ended up going into *****s for 3 days on two occasions for a knocking noise when engaging the clutch. Despite driving probably 25 miles in it (not sure why they needed to drive that far in it) they advised me that the noise was a noise made by all 1.8 TSIs and that there was nothing that needed doing.
I wasn't convinced at this as the car clearly didn't drive right. After popping into Crewe Seat on the way to Chester we popped in and after a 1 minute drive down the road they said it wasn't right and to arrange to book it in with them. Within 2 hours of having it they had diagnosed that the driveshaft needed replacing.
Unfortunately for *****s when I come to changing my Octavia I won't be considering going to them regardless of what they've got in.
