hi has anyone got a right up or know how or whats the best way to bypass the secondary air pump on a lcr 225? if anyone knows would be great thanks :)

oh really i got told thats what was creating my noise coming up through my airbox? if i block off the engine breather it stops the noise :/ what the unit just above the oil filter with the airpipe going into the top of it? i thought that was it? cheers

the SAI is a seccondary air pump used to regulate emissions on start up for an APX, the BAM however replaced the SAI system with a form of VVT to the same job.

so could that be what causing me noise?

A BAM engine does not have one of these SAI pumps at all. VVT variable valve timing issue would through up a fault code if that was on the way out.

Whats the noise like?

ok fair enough.. the noise almost sounds like its struggling to breath :/ if i put me ear to the airbox its coming from there but if i sqeeze the breather pipe (the one that comes off the breather filter and goes under the inlet) it goes away, and i think that pipe goes into the top of that pump right above the oil filter, a big plastic pipe goes into the top of it... anyway when i switch the engine off it make a funny gurgling noise then cuts off ,, really wierd a need to get to the bottom of it, so if you got any ideas lol! cheers mte
