I dont want to dampen anyones dreams but the friction plate idea is ok with pretty subtle maps but on some remaps that clutch will slip just like the standard one, so a whole uprated one is better worth... yes i know its near 700 but in the end with just the friction plate upgrade your spending £600 so why not get the extra £100 and get the real deal that is covered by a warranty completey...

just my 2p worth...

Customcode is one of the more subtle maps i think? I didn't want something that was full race spec, just wanted something a bit tougher than the stock item - alllards said they'd run the same setup on their cars with no problems or slip so will see how it goes. I've had the map on for a good 5 months or so now and it's only just started to do slip at peak torque.

No, dont get me wrong I'm sure it will work as the friction plate will las better than the standard one, all i was saying is only £100 of the uprated one, in my opinion, i would rather spend the extra few notes and get the whole package.

Do post up ur opinions once your is fitted unclefester, also you might wanna get the car RR'd after fitting your find the car can give better graph due to the clutch delivery all the power instead of slipping here and there..

:roflmao: i dont mean to brag, but i got my sachs organic clutch (pressure plate and drive plate) for wait for it ....................... £250 inc vat, then got it fitted at JBS for £211 inc vat. :D :p

I am currently trying to get a price for people off here that my work will allow me to buy them for, as they wont give me them for cost price if im selling them to members of the public, as we only sell to MF or big companies like GSF, FPS or ECP.

I dont understand, why would sachs do a standard one? surely thats pointless, i thought the whole point of them was they where of a higher torque rating, why make more than 1 for that model of car?

are you for real mate? SACHS is a huge manufacturer and are OE on many high end cars, all the VAG range and also heavily used in motorsport (F1, RALLY, ) etc etc. They offer 2 types of clutch, 1 because not every body wants an uprated clutch and due to the cost that will also put them off, so because they are OE they offer one that is going to be exactly the same as the one coming out, that will have the same diving carachteristics of the one coming out. If you have a remapped car and you get slip, just because u replace the clutch doesnt mean it wont happen again, as it will. This is where the second option comes in, you can run either just an uprated drive plate, which we dont advise as you wont get the maximum performance out of it , or you can buy the complete kits as piece parts. Now you will have 2 types of driven plate to choose from, 1.. is an uprated organic faced drive plate, that will look identical to the standard one, only the tolerances in the lining will be totally different as it will beable to withstand much more torque, power and most importantly heat than an original one would do. The second option drive plate will be one like MITCHY has in his LCR, a SINTERED PADDLE TYPE clutch drive plate. This can once again withstand even more power heat and torque than the organic one, but at a cost, as these are rigid plates, so they will be slightly more harsh feeling to drive with. Now i dont know what the paddle type ones are like as i havent driven one but in mine with my ORGANIC one in, it is slightly heavier, but thats only noticable when changing from driving my car to someone elses.

The biting point of my paddle clutch seems to be lower down but it doesnt really feel at all any heavier than before. It seems to be much better suited for launching quickly:)

I have the sachs paddle friction plate but with an uprated Spec 3+ pressure plate from the states. (Supposedly good for 450lbft:) )

There are 3 parts to the clutch, the drive/friction plate, the pressure plate and the release bearing.

You can buy all the items seperately, you dont need to have the 1 complete kit.

Yeah certanly launching it off the mark, it will do it no sweat at all, and you will get no clutch slip whatsoever. I did forget to mention though mitchy like you correctly pointed out, that every component of the clutch system can be bought singally. All the sachs uprated stuff is all single parts only, but can be used in cnjunction with one an other to make up a kit.

You can import from the states, the kits seem to be a lot cheaper and you should get a good uprated kit for under £500 (All 3 parts)

think i just got a genetric one uprated fo 140quid, paying the fella tomora hopefully

will do later if ive pulled this off, the plate. bearing and clutch, a genetric one, will get its chance, just ned to speek to the fella later today

Remember you do need to upgrade for a worthwhile clutch.

Just because it says sachs doesnt neccessarly mean that its better than your standard clutch (I think its made by sachs themselves anyway)

You need to find out the torque rating for the clutch. If its only 250lbft then there is no point as you'll only waste your money!
