I have a Seat Leon 2009 Stylance, which has the sat nav fitted.

It used to work fine, but recently it's all gone wrong. It looks like it can't find any satellites or something, as it is now showing my location as somewhere in the middle of the North Sea!

Another probably connected issue is the compass displayed in the MFD is stuck at 'N'

I have looked through the forum but can't find any similar problems. I'm loathe to take it to a dealer as I'm a but skint to be honest.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks

The simplest thing to try is a re-boot, just disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. You will get 3 warning lights on the dashboard afterwards but they will reset after you've driven about 100 yards.

Thanks for the reply.

Tried unplugging the battery for about 5 minutes but made no difference.

Guess it's a job for a seat dealer then :(

Also I think if you press the star button and the < > buttons together until screen goes blank that should restart it?

Hi mate,

Yes tried the two arrow keys and star button - it did reset it, but still showing satellites 0/0

Guess it's the antenna. Anybody know how to remove the mfd3 (think that's what it's called)?

Cheers.

That's brilliant. Thanks very much for that and the pics.
I will have a go this weekend.

Thanks again.

Just an update.

I removed the unit and checked to see if any loose connections.
All seemed ok, so I slaved in a new Gps antenna and immediately it picked up satellites and got a fix.

Found a good location for the new antenna and all seems to be working now.

Thanks everyone for your help.

As it is now working, I've discovered the map is well out of date.

Does anybody know the name of the map definition/disc that I can <ahem> look for on the Internet?

I imagine dealers charge a fortune.

Thanks again
