I've got the Cupra 300 with the 8" screen and nav.

Should I be able to do full postcode searches when typing in a destination? It only seems to accept 4 characters of it.

You should be able to input a full postcode. I can on my facelift fr. It only let's you input numbers and letters that exist within a postcode and blanks out those not applicable. Are you adding in a space after the first 4 digits? I don't think you're supposed to put spaces in on it iirc?

When I first got my 280, the SatNav required spaces. After I upgraded the software myself (using info from athread on here), it didn't need spaces.

In both cases, if it didn't know about a postcode it would grey out all the letters so you couldn't select anything further.

How many postcodes have you tried? Can you post an image of it not doing what you want?

From experience from the 6.5" ones, if you do it too quickly (within 30 secs), especially if you just turned on the car, it hasn't locked on the GPS signal yet, then even after putting the first 2 digits, say...W2, the remainder of the postcode will be blank (greyed out). usually I go back, wait a min, then try again, and the letters won't be greyed out. Sometimes if it's not ready it will show 'loading.' and then freezes. Not sure if same on the 8" one, but this was my experience on the 6.5" one.

Edit* mine is done without spaces. I just type in say...W21AB, it will know I mean W2 1AB, if too soon, I type W2, and 1, and I can't put AB, all letters greyed out.

I've tried it with and without a space, but it doesn't recognise any full post code. It only knows the first half and the first number from the second half.

I'm trying it from the 'address and POI search' when I press new destination.

If i go to normal address entry instead, there no postcode field.

My 10 year old tom tom was better!

Go to the Address entry page and select CITY. On the keyboard that comes up press POSTCODE and then a new keyboard pops up to allow you to enter the postcode. Make sure you put a space after the first 4 digits.

That works! Thanks for your help.

It's a shame you can't put postcodes in to thr normal address search. Bit of a design flaw I think.

In the older 5.8" Leons, Postcode is only labelled 'Ptcd.'

Took me even longer to figure out, whats that?

But once you know how to do it, easy peasy.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but can anyone tell me if the nav system has maps for europe or uk only?
