Hi All

I have a 2000 'V' Plate V5 which currently has a Tape player in it. I was thinking of getting a factroy fir Sat Nav fitted but not sure if it is possible?

Anyone done it before?

What is needed? The Sat nav console, new Cd, the fascia surround that the climate control and sat nav sit in?

I have seen a few different makes of Sat nav available for the toledo. Which is the best one to get?

What else? Is it easy to do? Been done before?

Cheers

Alex

I would suggest you're best off with a standalone sat nav unit. The double DIN standard units are very expensive to buy, and to be honest they're not that good. Especially if they're still running with the original disc, as it doesn't even recognise the A road that runs near my house!!

I don't know how much of it relies on other equipment, for example wheel sensors to control the volume, ECU for the security aspect, and other fancy stuff. At least an aftermarket unit would be more self contained.

If you want one that looks a bit 'OEM', then go for a head unit with sat nav installed, rather than the specific VW/Seat unit.

I have the sat nav console your referring to.

I dont mind it, it came with the car and looks great, but its not touchscreen, and as stated above, the original cd that comes with the sat nav is out of date, but you can use cd's from late models out of VW's

Loooking at a few pics, the later toledos have the ashtray in a different place? And the climate control panel looks slightly different, but im not 100% sure

Hope this helps
