Sat Nav Screen can anyone advise

I Have a Leon FR Mk3 ( I think ) it`s a 2015
the sat nav screen keeps diming and seams to slightly flicker, I`m having real problems with the seller ( Marshalls ) in Cambridge about this possible fault, I have taken video clips and pictures and they are due to have the car in a couple of weeks to do a test on it, my son said to me just now that it`s probable when you go into a shade the screen will automatically dim, I said this was rubbish and it was a fault, however without him know I tried this and it did seam to dim when we were going through a shaded area, the question I have is should it actually do this? is it a function of the screen and if so can I stop it

I am not near my car at the min to check but I think there may be a setting which turns the screen off after x amount of time.

Have you looked through the settings to see if anything obvious is there?

Have checked and can`t see anything have also checked manual
screen does n`t actually turn of but seams to dim every so often then goes bright again I know that they have some sort of sensor at the front which determines when your hand is close .. brings up options on the screen etc thought maybe these sensors determine light also but as i say can find nothing to suggest this which is why i think it could be a fault
