the vw mfd is a bitch to set up.....took me 2 weeks and im still not quite happy with it. Loads of problems with speed pulse and connectivity with cd changer and mine still doesnt quite keep up with the car. Im happy with it but it isnt as good as a tom tom at the moment but im gonna buy a new ariel and that should help my system!

tomtom one small - very cheap - very easy - established name - good quality screeen sound - only downside - the sucker falls off my window all time and can damage the dash i suppose but it never has, i say all time as in twice over about 20 hours of using it if not more hours tbh.

TomTom One currently £136 in the duty free at the airports complete with free safety camera locations & warnings.

The MFD and other factory systems are much harder to get camera info in to them.

no speed camera option on the built in one although im trying to find a way of electronic gauges on the screen just need them to input through the tv port on the back of the nav unit! Got mine from ebay from navi world. You have to wait a while for a seat one to appear as they are rare but they do from time to time. You need to realy get version G. Make sure it is or it wont work. Btw the nav disks are expensive although if you get a version g non dx unit i will be able to copy mine for you i think (i had to pay 70quid for the 2007 blamput disk!!!) You gonna be a rockingham for the btcc and ill show you mine working! If not i will post up some pictures of mine although its very similar to nial just not quite as far into the dash lol (must have a wire stuck)

This help?

Oh i have the name of the shop which will send you the cable for connection between a seat cd changer and the unit so get one cheap out of a leon!

i've got the Tom Tom GO 910, its great, wouldn't have got a different model. Its mega reliable and great for all of the POI's (Points Of Interests). Your also meant to subscribe for speed camera alerts but mine seems to pick em all up anyways so its great for that too. I'd advise anyone to get one from the Tom Tom range.

The TomTom 510, 710 and 910 are pre loaded with the camera information. The subscription is only for getting the updated information on new or moved cameras.

The good thing with the TomTom system is that you can also mark the favorite hiding places for the mobile cameras.

My main reason for a TomTom was to let me use it on my motorbike as well as in the car. just needed an extra mount & charge lead at £15.

was thinking about getting myself one today....that or a kenwood one! :D
same here

i borrowed one in a bag turned off with no manual with 10 mins to go before i left on a trip to a place i had never been to only knowing a postcode

180 mile round trip later i made it home no dilemmas - not hard to use at all even my 12yr old was flicking through the menu's as it got dark to change the screen mode

not sure if they do the speed camera bits though

[
B]hon_n_gem [/B]well if you read the reviews in ebuyer they say its pretty easy to load cameras onto he map! but i think thats an extra fee but i wouldnt be too sure!

If you buy a TomTom One now - there is a promotion sticker on the box for a one off FREE download of the camera information.

Just look for the boxes with the small yellow sticker in the top right hand corner advertising the free camera info.

And - YES - it is very easy to download the camera information and put it on to the SD card in the TomTom One.
