My front bumper is stonechipped to oblivion - I try and ignore it. Hahaha.
And yeah; i should really start saving for the whole job. How nice it will be to have good lovely glass paintwork free from swirls and scuffs *daydreams* lol.
 
Well this has been a while:
Far too long, I'de like to say I've been really busy with the car, but that would be a complete lie. I don't think I've done a thing since the last update - finance and time constraints SUCK.
But it's really sunny out there today so I've started thinking about Spring and Summer and that means CAR TIME (apparently)
I'm currently trying to find a place to refurb my wheels for me (I still never want to sand anything again) for reasonable money (so if anyone has any reccomendations that would be great - I've posted in the detailing section, but I don't know how busy that place gets).
Might go for a different colour or entire approach.... suggestions welcome.

That AND the desperate need for a proper paint correction/detailing session. Hopefully there will be some nice weather when I'm at home for Easter and I can do some cover up work with some PoorBoys Black Hole Glaze and Meg's wax. It'll make me a bit happier about her.

Bit of an update for everyone, I spent 8hours on Tuesday giving her a well needed good clean, clay, polish, glaze and wax (not to mention hoover the inside) And she looks lovely - I can't sing the praises of Poorboy's Black Hole glaze enough, it really does cover a multitude of sins. Haha. SO YAR! She's shiny shiny.

Also patch repaired the worst of the winter's toll on the wheels, only done to tie me over to Summer, when I'll have time to fully refurb the wheels again (POTHOLES SUCK*shakes fist*) and my thoughts are now heading towards what I'm gonna do with them this year... as much as I LOVE the green, I want a change, I'm gonna stick with the bright theme, so I'm thinking maybe Orange (and colour coded bits and bobs of course.....

OH YES, and since the wheelie bin men ran a wheelie bin into the boot panel, I've managed to sort out getting a new rear light cluster (which they cracked) AND she's book into the have the dink in the boot panel sorted out next week. SO we're on the up. I'm going to ask that they don't put the IBIZA badge back on too, might see how I feel about the debadged look...

I'de post some pictures of her shiny shiny, but the moment I put down the polishing cloth, it spat with rain, and besides, and you know what she looks like anyroo. I'll possibly post some shots of the damage and consequential repair work for posterity next week.
 
The Poorboys' black hole glaze stuff I used basically cleans and fills any little imperfections in surface finish, a couple of coats of the stuff and swirl marks in paintwork are covered up nicley. Ypu apply it as you would a wax, rub onto the surface, allow to dry to a haze, buff to a shine.
Go check it out, I'de seriously recommend it for getting a glassy finish on your paintwork. It obviously doesn't get rid of swirl marks permanently, just hides them away for a fraction of the price of a professional machine polish/detail :) (This is detailing on a student budget! haha!)

I really like the splitter. Ive been looking around but £45 seems a bit too much for some plastic! lol.
 
Impending update :)
She'll be going in for her 40k service this Friday.
I rang up the Stealers up this way (Lister's in Coventry) and they quoted me £300 odd quid for the service, and when I mentioned the cambelt probably needed doing he was surprised that it hadn't been done last year :S, anyways, that was another £350oddquidish, and said he'de do me both for £600, which seems like an alright sorta price for a dealership. Then I mentioned the bushes.... haha, and comparing it to the £450quote I got from the Hampton Court dealership at home, he said they'de have a look and then it would probably be a £250job to replace all of them.... I thought that was a bit odd that dealerships charge such different prices, anyways, we'll find out on Friday. :)

OH YES, and I think as far as the wheels go, I'm gonna find somewhere to shotblast/strip them down for me, and then paint 'em myself 'cos that's the easy bit loike :)
 
I had the Mrs Arosa serviced at a VW Specialist and it cost £350 for a full 40K service, cambelt, waterpump, tensioners, sparkplugs, filters, oilchange.

You might wanna shop around bit see what you can do.
Dealer prices are always super high and I trust my specialist over the dealer
 
I've had a look around, and the only VAG 'specialist' in Cov is down a little back alley and all seems a bit suspect. That price was miles better than back at home down in Surrey, so I'm just gonna bite the bullet, at least if something goes wrong I'll have the 24month Seat work warranty on it all.
