Sealants are generally 'man made ingredients' and waxes generally more 'natural ingredients'.
Waxes give a warmer look, and sealants a more reflective, glassy look.
Which you'd use, depends on a number of factors, such as required durability, colour of car and sometimes time of the year.
Generally, sealants give a better finish on lighter metallics and whites and waxes give a lovely glow to reds and dark colours.

Best looking finish on silver i have seen (within reason and for a hobbyist detailer)... durability on that process is an easy 6 months as well... that is currently the system i am using on my Leon.
As above for the difference though... you can get sealants which are used post polishing and pre waxing these add a good layer of protection and slickness to the paint.

Personally i like to polish, then drop a couple of layers of Autoglym extra gloss protection, then wax. Really really hard wearing combo.

this is the finish i get currently using AG bodywork shampoo conditioner, clay, super resin polishand extra gloss sealant.
i know alpt of you can and do do better but i'm quite pleased with the results.

At the end of the day mate, if you are happy with the results then thats all that matters really... i'd maybe look at a wax to lay over the SRP, EGP to add a bit of depth and gloss to the finish but thats my personal thoughts to finish off those products nicely.
any reccomendation as to which wax to use with my paint?
i do have a liquid wax that ive used in the past, cant remember which brand though.
My choice would be a panel pot of DoDo Juice Supernatural (circa £15), look expensive at that money cause its a 30ml pot (small) but you should be able to get at least 6-8 layers from that which will see you for a year or 2
