You doing the roof?

I have done the doors, rear, boot, under rear seat and roof. I haven't got around to taking the carpet and seat out - yet. Now the wind noise is more noticable ;-)

Blimey Pete you have been busy !

Don't know about you but when I added 3 sheets of Dynamat to my doors, my hands were cut to shreds....guess you've had a bit more practice though...

Most of the car is back together now. I've filled the rear 3/4 panels with fat blocks of foam in rubble sacks to keep the foam dry. Just got the passenger side 3/4 panel to fit back on but the results are worth it, it's much queiter now :funk:

I did slice a few chunks off one finger with the dynamat. Normally I wear mechanixwear gloves but they are covered in CV joint grease ATM so had to go hardcore bare handed :D

Yeah that link was an example, i notice after that its only 10sq ft. Was it actually dynamat you used then? Really keen to do this in my car, ive used my sat nav as a car phone endless times and i just cannot hear the person on the phone speaking, its terrible.

Not too far away
I used the noisekiller www.noisekiller.co.uk stuff on mine...

2 sheets of foil faced acoustic mat and
1 sheet of non adhesive acoustic floor mat

Enough to do the entire boot, rear 3/4 and front doors in the foil faced stuff and underlay all the carpet in the boot and up front with the floor mat...

did you find anything in those quarter panels that could potentially work loose, and cause a knocking sound?

Didn't have any underlay to hand at the time mate, but yes I'll probably add some later.

I understand why they did it, it's to keep the weight down. But TBH I think the majority of owners would rather have a quieter car than a miniscule performance increase and a few quid extra on the price.
