First post on Seatcupra.net

I have a 1.6 TDI Seat Ibiza mk5 2010 3Dr

Plans for the future mods are:

Remap & Possible DPF Delete (unsure how this effects emissions and the MOT though)

Alloys powder coated - Anyone that has had this done, recommend it? Does it last ?

Lowering Springs not decided how much drop yet

I've had my SEAT for about 7 months now (Give or take the 3 weeks it took to get accident repaired) and it has served me well. Looking for a bit more power now and a few mods to set it off.

Anyone got any tips how to keep the engine clean (e.g DPF) ? would be appreciated!

Cheers

Hi Aaron!

Welcome, never having owned a diesel let alone looked in to mods i cannot advise you there..

However i can advise on the powder coating idea. I had my standard alloys professionally powder coated about 5 months ago, they have not been compromised since (not kerbed or chipped) and the finish after giving them a good wash (soapy water only no treatments) is as good as the day i got them back.

Only issue is they do scratch easily. I have scratched all my 20 bolt holes while putting sockets in and out and putting in the black bolt covers. I suggest you invest in a plastic coated protective socket if you do go through with it, i did and no more scratches! Also be careful when installing or keep uninstalled the plastic bolt covers if your alloys are fitted with them.

Hope i am of some help!

Thats good to hear. I I have the standard SC Alloys that came with the Ibiza and I've not saw anyone with them black yet so looking forward to doing them! (only 5 Bolt holes)

It will be my old man thats bolting them back on so i'll make sure that he uses a plastic cover!

cheers for the heads up :)
