First time doing this sort of stuff on my own, replaced spark plugs few weeks ago, now purchased oil, oil filter, brake discs, brake pads so going to give it a go doing these. Pretty simple jobs but without moving anything or removing anything (or going under the car) i can't see the oil filter.

Can someone locate the oil filter on the engine

literally no videos/posts anywhere they're all for the earlier models where the oil filter is in front of your face as son as you lift the bonnet

thanks in advance

Look near the alternator.

Hum, yes it does hide a bit!

Broadly speaking, halfway along the engine block and halfway down, I've always approached it from above, access is a bit tight, but you should be able to get a socket on the end of that filter okay - though remove the socket once the filter has been slackened off before you run out of space.

Found it, going to attempt it tomorrow, supposedly a bit of sunshine here in Yorkshire!

Well, how did it go?

Went all well in fairness, was a struggle first getting the oil pump off as i don't think it had been swapped in a few years and the space between pump and radiator was awkward as i only had stupid size extensions for my ratchet and socket

Overall, oil all changed and new oil pump on. Brake discs and pads changed

Running smoothly again :)

I removed mine from under the car, found it easier.

I attempted that but with the awkward length extension i had for my ratchet i had a bit more space from above and easier to put more pressure on it as it was quite tight
