Hey,
I bought recently seat Ibiza mk3 tdi pd130, with gt1749 hybrid
I played a little with my turbo today (trying tuning it better), while I did it i fully opened the actuator for trying getting high boost -> get into limp mode -> lower the boost
while I tested the car in the first try, I didn't got high boost at all, ands instead of getting into limp mode - I head strange noise, a lot of smoke came from the exhaust, and and oil started to leak between the turbo and downpipe and into it...
I'm trying to find the cause of it, I really don't have any idea what could be the reason of it (because there wasn't any high boost)
Tomorrow, when the car won't be hot, I'll check if the turbines wasn't damaged or loose
Can any one try explain what happened there?
Thanks

Maybe you did get too high a boost until it blew the seals through

No limp mode as the sensor never got the chance to read the pressure ??

I was with the obd2 (tourqe) connected all along.
Pressure was low in the application, and besides that - the car was not powerful

By the way, the turbo / turbo cartridge is brand new... The seals was in a good condition

Needs a physical check then to be honest .

Just replaced turbo on same car .previous owner had attempted just the same as you described .resulted in his turbo breaking off the inlet and munching up the turbines .

Fingers crossed.
