Hi guys and girls, I thought it would be helpful to start a hints and tips thread to help us all get the most out of our cars. I still have a few weeks before getting my Xcelence Lux but I know some people already have FR’s and Xcelence Lux cars and a lot of you are lucky enough to be getting yours in the next few days so hopefully we should be able to get some useful information on here.

Not a particularly smart tip, but get a funnel for pouring windscreen washer fluid. Otherwise it's likely you'll spill at least a bit of it around, and there are some wires and connectors below nearby.

Front Assist (sometimes) stops working in heavy snowfall. Also sometimes it reacts to heaps of snow.
It recognizes bicycles too. Not sure if it recognizes pedestrians - possibly not because that's an option on Polos.

Thanks I will get one for filling the windscreen wash bottle.

Apparently you can put your windscreen wipers in service mode by turning on and then off the ignition and holding down the windscreen wiper switch. This will raise the windscreen wipers so they can be cleaned or replaced when washing your car and will prevent you from scratching or chipping the paint on your bonnet.

Yeah you just tap the stalk down after switching on then off ignition and it puts them into service mode
