Hello Ladys&Gents,

firstly, a long time ago i put up a thread about a 105ps engine reaching 300BHP, alot of people acted like trolls, and i stopped building up my car, but when i saw the Yellow Seat Leon on Darksidedevolpments website it gave me inspration to continue and ignor the trolls :), so i have been busy, below there is a mixture of pictures, from being stuck in the snow, to the front mount im currently fitting. to new tyres i recently purchased and the engine cover i sprayed oh and to the trolls the 1.9tdi is running 260BHP, but i plan to build a stronger set-up.

Anyway, enjoy...

Currently at 189bhp-259lbs/ft I have new injectors, and standard but hybrid turbo, full exhaust, Sages custom remap, FR inlet manifold ported and polished, egr delete, but asv still remains all stainless large bore pipe work from asv to uprated fmic to turbo, uprated & repostioned panel filter, 2 litre pistons, I'm awaiting the new clutch and flywheel to become available at darkside devolpments then I will order that and new turbo also oil rad, then minor head work should see just over 300bhp.

When I get my car back I will upload new photos.

Yeaa, you are not joking, I will need all the luck I can get ! I've done alot of research but because I'm among the few crazy 1.9 owners going for 300bhp alot is still to learn and discover and brake then ... Fix, :) luckily I have a garage who prep and build Golf BTCC diesels at my dispense also I cannot recommend darkside devolpments enough! Half of my stuff was purchased via them. I plan to be nearly done in 9 -10 weeks a meet with a few members would be good !

Looks very interesting if possible (not that Im doubting you) lol.. But tbf have you not considered with all the costs that starting with something like a FR/Cupra as a base would be better.

Just out of curiousity, what is the cost of a build like this?

PS: Ive seen a Few of those L30N type of plates and was considering on geting one when I first had my car lol

If I remember rightly there was a guy here in Northern Ireland years ago who had a 1.9 Tdi Leon putting out around 260bhp but it took a hell of a lot of work. Money better spent on just buying a faster car to begin with in my opinion but if you've got ££££'s to blow then go for it, it'll be an interesting journey to say the least :) and even sweeter to prove the ones who doubted you wrong. It is a lot to ask of a lowly diesel and as someone else said, probably won't be that fast either. You'll end up with silly torque figures and not be able to drive it without getting wheelspin everywhere, a LSD and a 6 speed box (probably will need uprating too), uprated brakes, uprated clutch.... uprated everything if it's going to be reliable. You're literally talking tens of thousands of pounds to build!! Just buy a GTR!!

What do you consider fast then? Driven many 300bhp diesels?

There'll be a whole lot of smoke and not much moving  I had a 130Tdi ibiza tuned to a little over 180bhp and 300lbs of torque and could hardly keep tyres on the thing!! Was quick enough at 180bhp, would've been nice to get it over 200bhp but drivability would have suffered especially in the wet! There are so many things to consider when you're pushing an engine like that so far

300bhp diesel in front wheel is bonkers but i like bonkers but the torque will be a major issue in theory getting 300bhp from 1.9tdi is more than possible but os other components that will just break quickly stock gearbox might not be able to cope and also droveshaft not to mention brakes , torque steer will also be a major issue . as i said do all your research and work out whether its worth it mate if i'm honest

then your setup was shite, my brother has an ibiza cupra with the darkside tubular manifold and gtb2260vk on it making about 220bhp at the moment due to needing a head rebuild and it barely smokes at all and goes very well. once the head is sorted and the nozzles are changed it'll be around 260bhp.

it goes pretty well now and thanks to an LSD is amazingly driveable, my missus has a 3.2 vectra(208bhp) and the ibiza is a little faster when smashing through the gears but in gear acceleration at motorway speeds it makes a joke of the vectra due to all the torque!

Watch your mouth pal! There was nothing wrong with my setup. It was still running the standard KKK turbo and ran very nicely at that. Your status below your name sums you up rightly!

Shite. Mine barely smokes more than standard and it's not hugely more difficult to drive than a standard car. And on the road, the only thing that's ever left me for dead was a GTR.

In the grand scheme of things, a 300bhp diesel is stupidly fast
