They do this sort of stuff all the time over in the states, some aren't bothered about smoke but then their engines don't last long. Smoke generally means a bad tune and the excess fuel is just killing the pistons. As said though the cost will be enormous but tbh if I had the money I'd do it too. I like the idea of having a lesser car that goes like poop off a shovel.
Ryan certainly knows his stuff too, I totally dig his jetta and would seriously love a shot of it. I reckon he would tell me to have sex and travel though lol.

Stylance, are you on the tdi club too?

Watch your mouth pal! There was nothing wrong with my setup. It was still running the standard KKK turbo and ran very nicely at that. Your status below your name sums you up rightly!

:roflmao: maybe you should get your facts straight before you go telling people what's what??

Maybe you should read the thread properly then ;) I said it'd be ridiculously expensive and probably not worthwhile but nowhere did I say it'd be impossible to do. Wind your neck in, ****in keyboard warriors

Are there many cars where u can double the power on the cheap? And saying its not worthwhile is idiotic. Could you buy a faster car - yes, is that the point - no.

Sorry what is sensible about spending thousands of pounds on tripling the bhp of a car just to make it virtually undrivable and unreliable just to prove a point and have nothing other than a worthless car that nobody's gonna want at the end of it?? The torque figures will be through the roof. If you don't see the idiocy in that then maybe you're the idiot. You're probably a lot younger than I am and therefore not as experienced, I've been there, done that and the one thing I've learnt is it's a waste of time and money. But hey if he wants to do it and honestly thinks it's possible, and it probably is possible, I knew someone to get close to 300bhp in a 1.9tdi leon... but it gave him more bother than enough from what I heard, so that in my opinion isn't a worthwhile investment! But like I said earlier in the thread, go for it and prove the one's who said it couldn't be done wrong. Don't try and be a smartass ;)

Wish people would stop clogging up RR thread's with pathetic arguments, if you've got nothing nice to say then keep it to yourself! Not difficult?!

I'm not the one arguing, some people are just looking for arguments that aren't there

I'll be following this one to see how it turns out, I'm intrigued :)

Everyone to there own. If it wasn't for people who aspire to try things this forum would be very boring. There's pro's and cons too everything. Looking forward to seeing this develop :)

There'll be much blood, sweat, tears, temper tantrums, empty bank accounts, calls to tyre fitters, tuning shops, auto factors, recovery services etc etc etc but fair play if can afford it and manage to pull it off

Torque figures through the roof - most certainly, its kind of the point
Worthless car that nobody wants - quite possibly but I have no interest in selling my car.
Younger than you - not a clue, nor do I see how it affects things. I'd actually hazard a guess that I'm older than you ;-)
I'm not trying to be a smartass. But since I own a 165k mile, 286bhp diesel Ibiza, I know what can and can't be done. And Mine is perfectly driveable, more reliable than most of the standard cars on here, and your posting nonsense.
This isn't an argument. People will search on google for 300bhp diesel and this thread will come up. And so far, you've not posted any 'fact', so it'll be misleading for anyone reading it.

Other than the empty bank account part, I haven;t had any of the above :p

I did. it isn't ridiculously expensive and owning a TDI with a 2260 the results are good but that's just my actual, real life experience. pal

Bear in mind to reach 300bhp you'll need around 390lb/ft at 4000 revs or if you can rev it to 4.5k 350lb/ft.

Either way hold on tight
